Baring any last minute changes, the official Flag-off event of Hon. Chike John Okafor 2017 Free Medical Outreach at Okigwe South Federal Constituency is billed to hold on 18th December, 2017.
According to a release by Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, the annual free medical outreach, which commenced in 2016 in Okigwe South Federal Constituency, is part of his contribution/support to the Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha’s laudable health care programmes to Imo people, and also part of his resolve and commitment to ensure a better and far reaching approach towards the good health and wellness of his immediate constituents, the people of Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma and Obowo Local Government Areas; Imo State and Nigeria at large.
According to Hon. Chike Okafor, and as witnessed by myself, Francis Udoka Ndimkoha, the 2016 free medical outreach recorded a huge success in Okigwe South Federal Constituency and beyond. With the support and collaboration of development partners and relevant stakeholders, an estimated 30,000 outpatients received treatments and various major and minor surgical interventions at the 2016 outreach programme.
Therefore, amidst this current development and the need for more comprehensive health intervention in Imo state, Hon. Chike Okafor has concluded plans to extend the free medical outreach beyond the Local Government Areas that make up OKigwe South Federal constituency and this outreach will run for a period of 20 weeks.
Just like he did last year, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor will use the opportunity of this flag off event to present his account of stewardship to his people, and as well, flag off more projects, viz:
Commissioning/Official hand over of Completed Constituency Project (3 Class Room Block) at Community Primary School, Umuogele, Umuariam, Obowo.
Official Foundation Laying Ceremony for the Construction of three (3) Comprehensive Health Centres at:
Ehime Mbano LGA
Ihitte Uboma LGA
Obowo LGA.
Official foundation laying ceremony of Ehime Mbano Divisional Police headquarters permanent site.
Official Foundation laying ceremony of Uboma Police Out- Station, Ihitte Uboma .
Official Foundation laying ceremony of Malaysia Market Police Station/ Mobile police transit camp, Umungwa, Obowo.
Hon. Chike Okafor went further to explain that the Construction and subsequent equipping of the three (3) Comprehensive Health Centers by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency,(NPHCDA) will further bring health care delivery closer to the people.
For Hon. Chike Okafor, the Construction of the Police Stations across the 3 Local Government Areas of Okigwe South Federal Constituency is his modest contribution to Community Policing efforts of Government.
The official flag off ceremony has been scheduled as follows:

Time: 11am.
This is the biggest free medical outreach ever in this part of the world, and it keeps getting better by the day.
