Uche Nwosu Empowers 500 Youths, In Skills Acquisitions Scheme

The Chief of Staff Government House Owerri and a governorship hopeful in Imo state ,Ugwumba Uche Nwosu , on Wednesday, distributed various empowerment materials to 500 Imo  youths  who graduated from the first batch of his skills acquisition scheme.

The youthful and vibrant Chief of Staff ,while presenting the materials to the beneficiaries at the Imo Trade and Investment Centre,Owerri ,  charged them to utilise the items to achieve self reliance.

Chief .Nwosu told the beneficiaries that the program was aimed at checking the unemployment among youth  in the state and challenged them to continue to build on the skills acquired to enable them empower others within their various communities.

His words, “The aim of this scheme is to tackle the menace of unemployment among youth . I urge all of you not to sell the starter materials given to you , make good use of them so that you will empower others around you. Be proud of your little beginning and don\’t be ashamed of what you do to earn a living because its an opportunity for you to fly\”

Continuing,\”my empowerment did not start today ,it started several years ago when I was the Director of Transport in Imo state University, IMSU. I\’m doing this because its part of me .I feel happy and fulfilled given back to the people. Once you have the opportunity to help ,assist as many as possible because God placed you there to do so. \”

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Dan Okoro, who was trained on fashion designing , thanked the Chief of Staff  for the opportunity to be able to produce devices that can make life better for others.\”

The trainees, in  the first  batch , were given , industrial sewing machines, hair dryers clippers,generators and other equipment to enable them start up their own businesses.
