The DG New Media of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State chapter, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu has been arraigned at the owerri Magistrate Court.
Nwaogwugwu who was arraigned on 7-count charge at the Magistrate Court presided over by B.U Adikibe pleaded not guilty in all the charges.
Counsels to Nwaogwugwu raised objection to Count VI of the Charge which the Owerri Magistrate Court has no Jurisdiction to entertain.
After the charges were read out and plea taken, Counsels to Ambrose Nwaogwugwu made an oral application for his Bail. The Counsel for the State opposed the application for Bail.
The Court adjourned date for ruling on application for bail in view of the plethora of cases cited by Counsels to Ambrose Nwaogwugwu.
Case was adjourned to 19-06-2020 for ruling on Application for Bail. Ambrose remains in the custody of the DSS until the adjourned date and ruling on Bail Application delivered one way or the other.

COUNT I
That you Nwaogwugwu Ambrose on 22nd May 2020, in Owerri, within the jurisdiction of this Court, knowingly published a defamatory matter on your face book page against Governor Hope Uzodimma, by stating that he plans to loot N5.2 Billion Gratuity of Imo former Governors, which publication you know to be false and intended to tarnish his reputation and you thereby committed an offence contrary to section 375 of the criminal code cap. 30 vol. 11 Laws of Eastern Nigeria 1963
COUNT II
That you Nwagowugwu Ambrose on 26th May, 2020 in Owerri, within the jurisdiction of the Court knowingly and intentionally posted on your face book wall, through a computer network that Governor Hope Uzodimma established fifteen (15) Almajiri Schools in Imo State, which you know to be false, for the purpose of causing hatred, ill- will or needless anxiety to the Governor and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 24 (1) (a) and (b) of cyber crimes (prohibition, prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.
COUNT III
That you Nwaogwugwu Ambrose on 20th April, 2020, in Owerri, within the jurisdiction of the Court, knowingly and intentionally posted on your face book wall, through a computer network that Governor Hope Uzodimma is to rename Imo State University (IMSU) to Abba Kyari University for helping him out in the Supreme Court, which you know to be false, for the purpose of causing annoyance, insult, injury, hatred, ill –will and needless anxiety to the Governor and thereby committed offence contrary to Section 24(1) (a) and (b) of Cyber Crimes (prohibition, prevention, ETC.) Act, 2015.
COUNT IV
That you Nwaogwugwu Ambrose on 20th April, 020 in Owerri, within the jurisdiction of this court, through a publication on your face book wall transmitted via a computer system, called on Imo people to resist the Governor over what you described as Governor’s plans to rename Imo State University to Abba Kyari University, which communication placed him in fear of violence or bodily harm and thereby committed an office contrary to section 24(2)(a) of Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention ETC) Act, 2015.
COUNT V
That you Nwaogwugwu Ambrose on 12th April, 2020 in Owerri within the jurisdiction of this Court, published on your face book wall through a computer system that Governor Hope Uzodinma has ordered his SSA on student Affairs Hon. Oparaji Franklyn to kill you, which is a threat to the reputation of governor Hope Uzodinma and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 24(2)© of Cyber crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.
COUNT VI
That you Nwaogwugwu Ambrose on 23rd march, 2020, in Owerri, within the jurisdiction of this court, knowingly published on your face book page that Governor Hope Uzodnma has inaugurated an undercover RUGA commissioner and has made available a large expense of land for the take off of the RUGA project in Ngor Okpala which act is deliberately done with malice and which is intended to seriously intimidate Imo population, and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1(2) (b) (ii) of Terrorism (Prevention) Act 2011 and punishable under Section 33 (1) (a) of the same.
COUNT VII
That you Nwaogwugwu Ambrose, on 14th August, 2019, in Owerri, within the jurisdiction of this Court, Knowingly and Intentionally transmitted through your face book page by means of computer system a grossly offensive picture which portrayed Governor Hope Uzodinma as a fraud, and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 24(a) of Cyber Crime (Prohibition, prevention ETC) Act, 2015.
