The leading auto-manufacturer in Africa and CEO of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Engr. Dr. Innocent Chukwuma have reiterated his comittment and zeal to partner with shared Prosperity Govt of Sen. Hope Uzodimma in establishing an auto-manufacturing plant in the state.

The auto manufacturer was in Imo to cement the agreement with the Government of Imo state ably led by Sen. Hope Uzodimma through Commerce and Industry Commissioner, Barr. Kingsley  Ononuju with his drive geared towards creating employment, raising IGR and  making Imo industrial / buisness destination in South-East and Nigeria.

Apart from floating manufacturing plant in Imo state, Innoson also partnering with Imo state Govt to float 300 cab to enhance the ease of transportation of commuters in the state. This will also enhance job creation and engage the youths meaningfully.

Just like in other developing  countries, Nigeria’s manufacturing sector has a huge potential to grow and compete with many of its counterparts in most emerging and advanced economies. The sector is made up of 77 various sub sectors/ industries from automobile to food, down to plastics. These are ordinarily expected to boost economic growth.

Since the inception of this administration, Gov. Hope Uzodimma have never left any stone unturned in encouraging and attracting potential investors into the state, as Imo is now declared safe Haven to invest by prosperity preaching governor which will invariably provide job opportunity, create wealth, empower the masses and Increase the GDP of the state.

Ononuju while responding to media crew stated \”

India, china etc did not become the eyes of auto industry over night. The private sector in India took a bold step to patronize India based product. The boom in local patronage helped their local industries to grow and improve on their products and services. This gave them confidence to export their products. In January 2020, India accounted for approx. 55% market share of the US$ 185-190 billion global buisness services.

Why cant we replicate same in Nigeria. Just like other nations, They looked inward, engineered their own products, patronized their own products, perfected them and are now selling same to the world. We can do so in Nigeria. The Foreigner\’s (Koreans, Asians, Indians are not  more intelligent than Nigerians. To promote local content have always been the mind of Sen. Hope Uzodimma,
who has toed the path of progressive-minded individuals and institutions like Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State who when the rest of us were in a seizure of self-doubt paid upfront for Innoson vehicles to be used by Anambra state government officials.

Ononuju used this medium to commend His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodimma for purchasing and donating numerous fleets of Innoson auto to cushion numerous challenges bedevilling the health sector and fight against insecurity in the state. This helped in improving the security architecture of the state and improved health/service delivery to the masses he concluded.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari reiterated his passion in  promoting local content and growing the economy through the Buy Nigeria initiative. The wise thing is for our leaders to key into the Buhari vision. It is a worthy cause full of emulation by other sister states.

At this point, I think Imo has taken a great leap forward in part of prosperity, on this, I take a bow.
