BEYOND END SARS, END THIS STYLE OF GOVERNANCE, LET NIGERIANS BREATHE – HON BARR KENNEDY IBEH

As a young man growing up in the 90s, I saw my Late father being involved in the Government of Nigeria at the Local Government level. He was Deputy Leader of Council. I visited his office severally and was delighted at the working of the Government at the Local level. There were men and women of means entering and leaving the councils either seeking contracts or for payment of jobs already executed. Today, the Local Government and the people at the grassroots can not breathe! *Endsars#*

From 2003 precisely, I took interest seeing the independence of the Legislative arm of the State and the concomitant viberance of the House of Assembly Members. By 2015, I contested and won hoping to be the voice of the people but I became alive to the fact that prior to my assumption of office that the Legislature had become only a department of Government House. I got it sore at one time or the other when my sensibility could no longer contain my pretences. For my passion and deep sitted desire for change, I deployed my salaries and allowances into doing the jobs of a Local Government; building town halls, market stalls and sinking water bore holes and reticulating it, paying for Students JAMB fees and providing free financial support for market women and artisans of my Constituency.  Not one day from 2015 to 2019 was I given anything called \’Constituency project allowance\”. The most irritating was that each time I returned home to speakout in Constituency briefings to my people, thesame my people took me to Owerri to curry favour of the Executive. Today we are all in thesame boat crying *#Endsars*.

Knowing that Nigeria is clearly out of the right course, I however thought that doing a second term could open up better opportunities for me which will also translate to better tidings for my Constituency and a greater number of my constituents but Noooo things are worse! I can no longer see my period talk less of conceive!! Please *#EndthisSARSGovtofNig*.

The future of the country and her citizens are bleak. The Federal Government and The National Assembly careless what we face down here. All the arms of Government at the State level has become coarced into one arm which determines the fate of other arms. Budgets at the State level has become a common and ordinarily traditional ritual, Appropriation is farce and everything is nonsense!! Nonsensical nonsense!!! *#ENDTHISSARSGOVT*

IF I WERE President Buhari, I will order the arrest, detention and investigation of all SARS commanders in Nigeria, immediately dissolve this non-productive Cabinet, summon an emergency Security council meeting, apologize to Nigerians and give Nigerians a short date to stay tuned to. Within the time not exceeding six months, commence very pragmatic consultation and steps that will return the Nation\’s ship on course. Restructure our Government and Restructure Nigeria. The destruction of the few National Assets we have is not the solution, Buhari must Act fast therefore. Otherwise, *#EndBubuyaya*

There is currently nothing I find inexcusable in Apostolic Church for me to clap my hands to bleeding! If the process of getting Nigeria back on track will cost me my Seat as Honorable Member (whatever that means), I AM MORE THAN WILLING. TODAY TODAY!! To make the sacrifice.

I AM ASHAMED OF THIS WHOLE DRAMA, I AM ASHAMED TO BE A NIGERIAN NOW, I AM ASHAMED TO BE ADDRESSED AS ONE IN GOVERNMENT (regardless of how handicapped the State Legislature is). I AM READY TO MAKE SACRIFICES FOR A NIGERIA WHERE THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICH AND THE NOT RICH IS NOT AS WIDE AS IT IS NOW. LET THINGS CHANGE.

*#ENDSARS* *#ENDTHISNONSENSEGOERNMENT* *#EndMediocrityinservice* *#EndNepotism* *#EndthistypeofNigeria*
