The Young Progressives Party, YPP, has condemned the arsenal killing of innocent people at Orlu, Imo State.
YPP, through its woman leader, Amb Chika Uju, regretted the destruction of lives and property by the military at the area which was said to be revenging death of their colleague who was allegedly murdered by Eastern Security Network.
In an interview on Thursday in Owerri with our reporter, Uju frowned at the bloodbath at Orlu, describing it as a crime against humanity, stating that the act was gruesomely unlawfully perpetrated\”.
The party, while advising government to mandate the military to leave the area, reiterated that no amount of provocation could have triggered the military to wage arsenal war against unarmed civilians.
YPP was bitter that Orlu and environs have remained hostile coupled with the trauma and hunger the residents were subjected to for seven days, encouraging those affected to bear the massacre or unrest, but obey laid down rules especially as they relate to the dusk-to- dawn-curfew imposed by government which it decried for being callous and reluctant for supporting the carnage at the area.
