Senator Samuel Anyanwu has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 11 governorship election in Imo State in a congress held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the party’s State Secretariat in Owerri, the State capital.
The National Secretary of PDP was declared the winner by the congress committee chairman, Kenneth Okon after he was elected as a consensus candidate by delegates from the 27 LGAs of the State.
Accepting the outcome, Anyanwu said he is running for Governor to secure the State and open her up for economic opportunities and sustainable development.
He stated that as Governor, his administration will give special attention to empowering and developing the talents of the teeming youths of the State.
The former lawmaker thanked the leadership of Imo PDP and the delegates for their support and cooperation, adding that his emergence as a consensus candidate reflects the understanding within the party in the State.
