The Third-term Member Representing Ehime Mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja, Hon. Dcn. Chike Okafor Ph.D has commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for a peaceful voting atmosphere in Obowo and the State at large.
He made this known today 11th November 2023, while casting his vote for APC in his hometown Umuokeh at booth 007 in Okenanlogho INEC Ward, Obowo Local Government Area in Imo State.
On his arrival at the Polling Unit, this afternoon at about 12:45 PM amid a peaceful voting ambience, the Honourable Member representing Ehime Mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo, Hon. Dcn. Chike Okafor Ph.D was accredited and immediately proceeded to vote.
Speaking with reporters afterwards, Super Ranking Member of the Federal House of Representatives noted that the electoral process so far in Obowo LGA is peaceful and expressed high hopes that it would be the same across other LGAs in the State as he commended the electoral process in his polling unit in Obowo.
He starkly attributed the massive turnout of supporters cum voters across the polling units for APC in Obowo to the large goodwill and grassroots support he enjoys consequent to the quality and effective representation and good governance the people have continued to benefit from under the All Progressive Congress (APC) over the years.
“Since I got into politics in 2011 as Commissioner of Finance, over this period, I have given to my people nothing but quality and effective representation, therefore, wherever I pitch my tent, that’s where my people will go.”
“As long as this election is concerned, for my people, Chike Okafor is on the ballot,” he noted.
He disclosed that the popularity and large goodwill staked on him by the electorates is a result of the effective and quality representation he has brought to bear in the course of the service to his humanity, chiefly demonstrated through the provision of free medical care for the poor and vulnerable in the society, yearly payments of WAEC Registration Fees for indigent children and Rural Electrification Projects across the three LGA in Okigwe South Federal Constituency.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of security in the LGA and noted that because it is an off-cycle election held only in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa, no doubt the security will be heavily beefed up to ensure the security of the electorates in the voting exercise.
While thanking his supporters for travelling back home from both far and near cities to re-elect the incumbent Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma for the continuity of his transformational leadership and development strides in Imo State, he assured them of APC victory at the end of the electoral process as he prayed for the victorious declarations and emergence of His Excellency, Dist.
