….…HUMBLY PROFFERS WAYS TO PACIFY EVERYONE INVOLVED AND GENERATE REVENUE FOR THE GOVERNMENT IN THE PROCESS…..
Deacon Obaego Solomon:
Greeting My dear Governor Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, my humble appeal and counsel to the stand off in the FUTO Land is for you to take a step which will placate all interested parties and bring the problem there to a permanent stop, and bring peace, even development and desired huge revenue to the Government from the area in question.
I humbly suggest to the government to invite all the Developers that bought lands from the communities in the affected area before the present lingering crises.
Prior to government intervention and subsequent futo take over of the area in question, the indigenous land owners (families from the host communities) have sold over 20% of the entire land to developers and other organisations.
Therefore i appeal to the Government to consider the following options incase it decides to settle the dispute in the area through a compensatory plot arrangement,
In order to maintain equity and secure the investors interests as well as quickly accrue the needed revenue to the state.
First of all,
The Government should set up a committee involving reputable developers that acquired lands from the communities in the area.
The developers with full verified evidence of transaction with host families (communities) should have the first consideration of settlement from the planned compensatory plots of land by the government; before handing over the remaining plots to the families(communities) that sold out the lands abinitio.
This is a major arbitration step I think will permanently and equitably resolve the impasse in the area.
By doing this, the government will absolved itself of public accusations and ill feelings by affected parties.
This Developers will be directed to settle with the host families(communities) as they started the deals, incase of any outstanding.
The favoured developers will be charged a regularisation fee per plot by the responsible government ministry for official government rectification and approval for the lands.
Receipts of payment of such fees will be issued to them by government department incharge and subsequent provisional allocation or allocation papers issued to compliant developers.
This in my opinion will placate and protect all vested interests in the area, especially non indigent investors that have sunk funds in the hands of host families(communities) in the area.
