The arrest and detention of members of indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), a foremost group agitating for the restoration of defunct Biafra as a sovereign nation by the Nigerian security forces has taken a more serious dimension as members of the group are not only been arrested but are manhandled, tortured and even killed without trial.
This follows a recent directive by president Mohammadu Buhari. However, a recent onslaught at the residence of the supreme leader of the indigenous people of Biafra ( IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian joint security forces comprising the Army, police, NSCDC and DSS personnel on members of the group while having peaceful gathering left many injured, scores arrested and even killed.
Report revealed that three (3) persons lost their lives and about 18 persons sustained various degrees of injuries while serious arrest were made as well , also few lucky ones escaped.
The report further had it that Mr precious Ihim Mobian, a senior active member of the group was among those arrested and taken to DSS dungeon in Abuja for Interrogation.
Mr precious Ihim Mobian is a very active and dedicated member of IPOB fighting for the freedom of his people , the Igbos of the south Eastern part of the country. And because of his courage and special roles ,he has been playing, he has been arrested severally during peaceful protest before the latest incident and have been subjected to inhumane treatment by the Nigerian security forces.
Hundreds of IPOB members are in police custody and many have died on the course of their struggle for the freedom of Igbos ( Biafra) of the south Eastern part of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report the condition of Mr precious Ihim Mobian and other members of the group arrested and taken to DSS custody Abuja could not be ascertained.
IPOB has condemned the attack on his members, but maintained that no amount of intimidation and atrocities committed against them by the Nigerian security forces would deter them from seeking for the freedom and emancipation of Igbos as it has been their unwavering resolve to embrace peaceful approach to achieving Biafran Independence.
