The Honourable Member Representing Ikeduru State Constituency and Majority Leader, Imo State House of Assembly, Amb. Uche Ogbuagu has been commended for his rare leadership and humanitarian disposition.
The Traditional Prime Minister of Obi Orodo, Chief Simon Ndubuaku JP, made this commendation when he led other leaders of thought on a THANK YOU visit to the Honourable Member at his Akabo residence.
Chief Ndubuaku says that with the abattoir project Amb. Ogbuagu cited in the community, their age long shame and mountain have been surmounted.
He describes the gift as not only unprecedented but indelible in the history of Orodo Kingdom, moreso coming from an extended son when the market has been in deplorable state and abattoir an eyesore for years.
Chief Ndubuaku on behalf of the delegation pledged their unalloyed support to Uche Ogbuagu in any political sojourn he may wish to take now and in the future no matter the party.
They decried the age long neglect of the people and the dilapidated nature of infrastructure in the area from even their biological political office holders of the area, whom they entrusted their mandate on.
For his part, Prof. Peter Ejiofor an Orodo born erudite Educationist described Amb. Ogbuagu as a politician with difference with what he has demonstrated so far in terms of quality projects, which he has shown with love and humility in Ikeduru and Mbaike in general within 14 months on the saddle.
He emphasized that achieving over 40 people oriented projects within such a period is record breaking.
He further explains that it’s as a rare feat for the lawmaker to utilize his personal funds, salaries and allowances meant for his comfort for the greater good of the majority. He like Oliver Twist, prayed for more projects to be sited in their area through the magnanimity of the vibrant and development driven Lawmaker.
Responding, Amb. Ogbuagu who was close to tears of joy on the showers of encomiums by Orodo Leaders thanked them for appreciating the little he has done for them and assures that he would not close his eyes to any issue concerning them henceforth.
He explains that the abattoir project was just in response to an SOS he received from his brothers and fans from across Orodo on the need to save lives by cleaning up the dungeon like state of the public food laboratory. But he regretted that his brothers in politics misunderstood it for politics and mobilized hoodlums to attack him at the commissioning ceremony instead of thanking him.
Ogbuagu wonders why every of his actions to better the lots of the people is misconstrued for campaign strategy for 2023 election.
Amb. Ogbuagu in a solemn laden voice condemned what he tagged as irregular politicking by jobbers, who allude all his goodwill projects with the quest to represent Mbaike 2023 and unequivocally stated that he is not contesting for any election in 2023 as his sole aim is to deliver landmark projects and ensure effective representation with the current mandate which he enjoys as well as writing his name on gold as a legacy for generations unborn.
He adds that his agreement with God and mission in government is to ensure a better society, through a passionate and selfless service delivery to humanity. He urged the leaders to key into the policies of Governor Hope Uzodinma’s government, which according to him is poised towards delivering democracy dividends to Imolites.
