HIS EXCELLENCY, OTUNBA ADENIYI ADEBAYO MEETS WITH THE MANAGEMENT OF THE UGWUMBA LEADERSHIP CENTER

Today in Abuja, His Excellency, Otunba Adebayo Adeniyi, the Hon. Minister for Industry, Trade and Investments received in audience the Management of the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa led by their President, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu. 

The visit to the Hon. Minister today is one of the scheduled partnership meetings in preparation for the 2020 Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge, scheduled to hold in Abuja, sometime in December.

Addressing the Hon. Minister, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu said that he founded the Ugwumba Leadership Center to be able to support the Government in reducing the youth unemployment crisis ravaging the country with its attendant high criminal and poverty rates in the society. 

He informed the Minister that through the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge, the Center has empowered over 2,000 Nigerian youths and said that a continued partnership with the Ministry has become pertinent to expand the scope of the impacts the idea pitching and grant competition is making across the country and in other African nations.

Contributing, Mr. Remy Chukwunyere, the Executive Director of the Center used the opportunity to thank the Hon. Minister for the support the Leadership Center received from his ministry during the 2019 edition of the Enterprise Challenge. 

Accordin to Mr. Chukwunyere, through the support of his Minsitry, the Center is today promoting the business ideas of Ugwumba Fellows at the Nigerian Investments Promotion Commission (NIPCO), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Corporate Affairs Commission and other agencies under the supervision of the ministry.

In his response, the Hon. Minister, Otunba Adebayo Adeniyi thanked Ugwumba Uche Nwosu immensely for his contributions towards the industrial and economic development of the country through his foundation.

He thereafter declared the interest of his Ministry to partner with the Ugwumba Leadership Center to further promote the rural industrialization policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration.

The Hon. Minister equally confirmed his availability to participate at the grand finale of the Ugwumba Enterprise Challenge which is coming up on December 07, 2020 in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa is an organization that was established in 2019 with a mandate to change the world by raising a new generation of young leaders and entrepreneurs from the African continent.
