The Imo state House of assembly have reshuffled its Standing Committee Chairmen following recent developments in the House for more effective oversight functions.
Speaker of the house Paul Emeziem during plenary announced the reconstitution of the 26 house standing Committees, while urging the members to take their oversight functions seriously saying this would further help in presenting the 9th Imo Assembly as a vibrant and focused house.
The Committees have the Deputy Speaker Chyna Iwuanyanwu as the Chairman of youths, sports, social development and skill entrepreneurship. While Johnson Duru heads house services, ethics and privileges, information and public petitions.
Commerce and industry will be headed by Ngozi Obiefule while Chigozie Nwaneri is in charge of works.
Education, Gender and vulnerable will be headed by Uju Onwudiwe while Kennedy Ibeh will head the committee on local government, rural development, Chieftaincy affairs and autonomous community.
Dominic Ezerioha oversees Public Utilities while Eddy Obinna is the Chairman House Committee on IGR and Pension.
Rules and business will be headed by the majority leader of the house, Uche Ogbuagwu while science and technology development will be headed by Philip Ejiogu.
Arthur Egwim will head Public Accounts while the immediate past speaker of the house Chiji Collins will head the committee on Agriculture, livestock and natural resources.
Judiciary will be headed by Prince obinna okwara while Samuel Otuibe is the Chairman of Environment and ENTRACO sanitation.
The Chairman House Committee on ISOPADEC still remains Heclus Okoro while Kanayo Onyeanchi continues as House Committee Chairman on lands and urban development.
