For the past few years now, Project Dorcas team spends every December 25th – 26th in rural areas visiting with widows, indigents and brethren trusting God for help.
The outreach is called \”Operation Smile Again\”
The Team visited patients at FMC Umuahia and some other private hospitals in Umuahia with lots of gifts, offsetting the bills of some patients.
Packs of rice, tomatoes, salt, maggi, groundnut oil, money was also shared to some communities too
Pastor Uche Ama-Ohakah, President and Founder of
ProjectDorcas Foundation speaking on his social media handles expressed joy for a successful outreach.
He said:
\”ProjectDorcas Foundation is so grateful to God for a successful Outreach on Dec. 25 to Amawom Community Ikwuano, Ogbodinibe Community Umuahia South, Ekeoba Umuahia North.
By God\’s special grace and the support of our partners, we have reached out to more people with more gifts this year than all previous years. In fact during the COVID-19 lockdown, we shared such massive palliatives that some people in one village said Government sent us to share them bags of rice and money(And I got angry eh, I asked them which yeye Govt?). All courtesy of wonderful partners God has given us.
I dedicate this post to all our partners – most of you prefer to remain anonymous but be assured that the prayers of these people touched have your names on them as they ascend to heaven. Men shall answer you when you call.
This year ProjectDorcas sponsored youths who want to learn skills. This year ProjectDorcas gave free medical treatments to hundreds. This year ProjectDorcas renovated a widow\’s house. This year ProjectDorcas paid hospital bills at FMC Umuahia for patients who were discharged but couldn\’t go cos they had no money to pay their bills. This is what gives me joy.
Thanks to all who encourage us. Those who support us with finance and prayers. To all our volunteers. God will make happen for you what you cannot do for yourself.
Let\’s do more in 2021!\”
