Nwosu Faith Chidinma (Nee Igwenyere) is a senior Medical Laboratory Scientist with over 10years of experience in the public and private sector, a steadfast educationist and public health activist.
Fortified with a B. Mls in Medical Laboratory Science from Imo State University, Post graduate diploma in Education from Nigerian Teachers Institute and Masters degree in Public Health from University of South Wales, Mrs Faith is equipped to make her impact in the medical field as well as public enlightenment. Her drive for continuous improvement and passion for imparting knowledge led her through the path of obtaining a Leadership and Management certification in Health from University of Washington, and a Human Resource Management certification from University of South Wales. She is also an Associate Member of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN), Nigeria Union of Teachers and International Association of Human Resource Management (IHRIM).
In addition to her decade of practical experience, she had also participated in highly visible international projects like the Nigerian Aids Indicator and impact survey (NAIIS). A project organised by the University of Maryland in collaboration with Institute of human virology, African field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), the University of Washington and funded by the United States PEPFAR through Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. This involved leading a team to conduct point of contact testing (POC) for HIV, Hepatitis B and C and CD4 count tests across selected households with instant data transmission. She emerged as one of the best field laboratory officers at the end of the project.
Faith Nwosu has a vision of improving the quality of public health care in Nigeria, empower youths through instructive education to enable them make positive life transforming decisions for a healthier and stronger world. She has been invited to facilitate several capacity development training and seminars at her place of work, church, community and schools in topics ranging from introduction of sexuality education in secondary schools to quality control, proper handling of body samples, non-communicable diseases, infectious disease prevention and emergency preparedness response approach to natural disaster in professional seminars.
She is currently a Chemical Pathologist and a senior medical laboratory scientist at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital where she conducts quality control and quality assurance services, performs analyses of body fluids samples/tissues for proper medical diagnosis and treatment. She also partakes in work related research in addition to mentoring upcoming scientist and medical students. She is also one of the managing directors of Kamcol Nigeria Limited, a family owned business offering medical and engineering services.
Mrs Nwosu always strives to balance her work and ambition with her family (a marriage blessed with three wonderful children. Her favourite pastimes include sharing positive and health related information through social media (#yourscientistnextdoor#), swimming, vacation with her family and attending personal development trainings (she is currently undergoing a leadership training at the prestigious Janie Pajoel Leadership Institute)
