The ranking Member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency, comprising  Obowo, Ehime Mbano and Ihitte–Uboma in the Federal House of Representatives Abuja, Hon  Deacon Chike John Okafor has sued for peace and made a strong case for reconciliation amongst  APC factions in Okigwe zone of Imo State, to move the ruling party forward and strengthen its stronghold of the state as a gateway to the  Southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria. 

According  to the  former Senior  Bank  Manager and  Umuokeh  Obowo Crown Prince  turned politician, the emergence of the  brand new Senator representing Okigwe zone ,Distinguished Senator Frank Ibezim and his successful inauguration have undoubtedly opened a phase and process for reconciliation in earnest and further urged the Senator to expedite action leveraging on his high public office and God\’s given opportunity to provide leadership. 

Deacon Okafor made the call  penultimate Tuesday in a grand reception organized in honor of Distinguished  Senator Frank Ibezim, shortly after his successful inauguration as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Okigwe zone of Imo State. 

Deacon Okafor observed that  as their leader, Senator Ibezim has a duty and responsibility to unite all factions in the zone in so far as the factions are willing to join hands to make okigwe zone better.

The grace filled Deacon and former House Committee Chairman on Health Care  Services did not stop there as he emphasized that they owe a duty to the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma to deliver Okigwe zone any time any day, adding that the Governor provided a sound and proactive leadership that made possible the electoral victory being savoured today in Okigwe through the emergence of their brand new Senator, Frank  Ibezim and as such deserves their support and loyalty. 

On a closing remark, he on his last word called Distinguished Senator Frank Ibezim in his words\” Sir as the highest elected political office holder in our zone, you are my leader\”

Chike further observed that Okigwe zone has all it takes to make the zone the headquarters of  APC in the southeast considering the abundance of human resources available in the zone  in the current dispensation hence the state representative in the Federal Executive  Counciul is from the zone, the number three Citizen of the State, the Speaker, two federal House of Representatives Members, all the House !of Assembly Members from the zone are APC, including the Secretary to the State Government and other key appointees of the Government are from Okigwe zone. He was optimistic that the zone is on the threshold of history to actualize it\’s manifest destiny of greatness and big accomplishments.
