Life And Times of Felix Pere-Kalama, High Chief

PROFILE
High Chief Felix Pere-Kalama was born on the 21st of July 1951 To Parent From Agbere and Asamabiri Communities In Sagbama Local Government Area Of Bayelsa State.
After attending Primary Schools At Agbere And Asamabiri, He travelled to Ghana to attend St. John’s Grammar School, Achimota From 1965 To 1969 And successfully obtained GCE Ordinary Level.
Worked as an Accounts Clerk with the United Insurance Company Ltd (UNIC) 53 Marina, Lagos From January 1970 to December 1971 Before Joining Africa Continental Bank (ACB), Head Office, Lagos As Accounts Clerk From January 1972 To 1975.
He resigned from his employment and left for further studies at the South West London College, Tooting Broadway, London from 1975 To 1977.
He qualified as an Associate of The Institute Of Bankers (ACIB), London In April 1976 And also earned a Post Graduate In Administrative Management, London in April 1977.
He was elected Fellow Of The Institute Of Bankers (FCIB), London In 1986 followed by the Fellowship Of Chartered Institute Of Bankers Of Nigeria In 1987.
He was also an Associate Of The Chartered Institute Of Taxation Of Nigeria (ACITN) Since March 2014.
With over 17 Years Post Qualification Banking Experience, starting as a Management Trainee with Union Bank Of Nigeria Ltd as an Assistant Manager in 1980 and ended as Acting Head Of Advances Department, Head Office Lagos.
He voluntarily resigned from his appointment as a Senior Management Staff In July 1994 and went into the Private business of Contracting and Consulting.
He was subsequently appointed Non-Executive Director with IMB (International Bank Plc), Victoria Island Lagos from March 2005 to May 2006.
From May 1989 to September 1992, he was also appointed by The Rivers State State Government as a Director In The Board Of Michelin Nigeria Ltd.
He was also nominated and elected in absentia as Chairman of the Defunct Asamabiri Community Bank From 1993 to 1995.
He also served as Executive Director in the Bayelsa State Board Of International Revenue From 2012 to February 2015.
Besides being a community Chief, (THE AMATARI OF AGBERE 2004), he is also a High Chief of TARAKIRI KINGDOM (THE EBEGAOWEI OF TARAKIRI 2007) and TUNGBENGHAOWEI OF KABOWEI CLAN BAYELSA STATE 2013.
His hobbies include swimming, listening to music, and current affairs.
