Labour Party Imo State led by Barr Calistus Ihejiagwa today flagged off officially its state-wide campaign rally across the twenty-seven (27) Local Government Areas ahead of the November 11th, 2023 Imo Governorship Elections.
The Campaign flag-off which was held at the Chioma Ajunwa Sports Complex Nkwogwu Aboh Mbaise kicked off with a courtesy visit to the palace of HRH Eze R.A AMADI OBO I OF Obetiti Nguru Autonomous Community Aboh Mbaise LGA before proceeding to the campaign ground.
Barr Calistus Ihejiagwa, Imo State Labour Party Chairman while speaking introduced Sen Athan as a man who has credibility, capacity, and the needed competence to remove Hope Uzodimma and move Imo State forward.
Barr Carlistus Ihejiagwa recalled how HE Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha as the duly elected Governor of Imo State put Imo on track for massive progress and development before the January 14th Supreme Court magic that removed HE Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, a man Imolites voted for and made a man who came fourth Governor which has kept Imolites in tears till date.
The Imo State Labour Party Chairman further noted that the Labour Party has presented the best candidate to the People of Imo State that will take over power from the present administration while reassuring that Sen Athan Achonu’s era as the State’s Chief Executive will be days of glory for Ndi Imo.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Imo State Labour Party Governorship Election Campaign Council, Hon Tochukwu Okere said the party is well positioned to win the November 11th Imo Gubernatorial election convincingly, because all credible indicators show the state is a Labour Party state.
The member of the House of Representatives who represents the good people of Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives said
that all the party needed to do to cruise to victory on November 11, is to mount an aggressive door-to-door grassroots-based campaign and thus we must take back Imo.
Sir Charlie Agomuo (AIG Rtd) while speaking emphasized that Sen Athan Achonu is the best man for the job and assured the campaign train that all Aboh Mbaise people will massively vote and protect their votes for the Labour Party on November 11th, 2023 Imo Governorship election.
Making his remarks, Sen Athan Achonu (Akuruoulo Ndigbo) reemphasized his commitment to stopping the bloodshed in Imo State as he cried due to the high level of killings in Imo State. He noted that he has come to fix the challenges facing Imo State today, especially in the areas of power, Education, job creation, economic development, and insecurity.
The Akuruoulo Ndigbo promised to give full autonomy to the Local Government and conduct Imo Local Government elections immediately after he is sworn in as Governor because he believes that Local Government is the closest Government to the people and if we have a functional Local Government in Imo State it will reduce insecurity to the minimum.
Agu Otu Aka as he’s fondly called promised to immediately turn Sam Mbakwe Airport into a full-blown Cargo hub after he is sworn in as Governor of Imo State because it will bring it to its full potential and equally create massive opportunities and employment to Ndi Imo.
He promised that the incoming administration under the Labour Party would offer a new and peaceful Imo where Imolites would have a State they had desired long ago where the rule of law and due process in governance is respected.
Speaking further, Sen Atha Achonu thanked the good people of Aboh Mbaise for coming out in their numbers to receive him and the party, urging them to ensure that they get their Permanent Voter Cards in other to consolidate the support that they have displayed today. He assured them that the incoming Labour Party administration will focus on core areas of Power, education, infrastructure, sustainable youth, and women empowerment, Payment of wages and pension, training of Teachers, employment, industrialization, Healthcare, rural development, economic growth, and general development.
Sen Athan Achonu thanked the leadership of the Labour Party led by Barr Calistus Ihejiagwa and the leaders of the party for always standing by him. He assured that the party will be adequately carried along when he assumes office to ensure that its manifesto which is centered on development and people-oriented leadership is implemented.
The Peoples General urged the people of Aboh Mbaise and Ndi Imo to keep supporting and praying for the Labour Party, our National Leader Mr Peter Obi and described the Labour Party as the only platform that has what it takes to Get Nigeria and Imo State Working Again.
