While Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday booked their semi final place in the 34th Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 defeat of Angola in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, as Ademola Lookman finished a Moses Simon cross from the left flank to sink the Palancas Negras of Angola; the diaspora King of the Igbo community in the Republic of Ghana, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, alongside Presidential candidate of Labour Party during the 2023 general elections Mr. Peter Obi, and Mr. Val Ozigbo, joined millions of Nigerians to celebrate this remarkable feat.
Speaking from Abuja, the Nation’s Federal Capital Territory, Ezeigbo Ghana, Amb. Ihenetu, commended the resilence, team work, never-give up- spirit, and true patriotism of Nigeria’s Super Eagles which they have displayed in the ongoing Africa’s Cup of Nations Championship in Ivory Coast.
The football loving Ezeigbo Ghana; a Nigerian patriot, strong advocate of peace and unity, Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu also expressed confidence in the National Team’s playing capacity to finish well and bring back home the cup judging by their highly impressive records since the tournament kick- started.
In a statement signed and released by the royal father a copy which was made available to his Media Country Director- Nigeria🇳🇬, Njoku Macdonald Obinna, Ezeigbo Ghana was captured to have posited:
“ I feel not just elated about the win, but I also feel delighted having watched the match from the beginning to end of the 90 minutes game with my shoulders high as a Nigerian, resonating the patriotism of a common people, as football is the only sport that unites us together despite our different tribes, ethnic groups, political leanings and religious lines. “
Wishing them well, Eze Ihenetu commended the coahing crew and technical team of the Super Eagles led by the Portuguese football manager, José Peseiro, while urging the players to sustain the winning streak and tempo so as to bring the trophy back home.
In his victory remarks, the obviously elated Peter Obi, who was accompanied to watch the live match in Ivory Coast by Mr. Val Ozigbo, stated:
“ It was truly a delightful and uplifting experience for me , as I joined other Nigerians to watch Nigeria’s National Team, the Super Eagles, live in Abidjan, Ivory Coast Capital, as they cruised to the semi-final of the ongoing AFCON tournament. “
“ As always, our dear team, with the strength of an eagle, flew us into the semi-finals, victoriously with a delightful show of patriotism and professionalism. I heartily congratulate our national team, the Super Eagles, for their electrifying performance.“
