A respected and renowned Ukwa la Ngwa Leader , Chief Chuku Wachuku, has urged serial political office contestants in Abia State to redirect their energy to socio-economically viable endeavours other than political leadership.
Speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections, the ex Director-General of National Directorate of Employment strongly called for transfer of power to the next generation of leaders. He frowned at the conduct of most political leaders who have turned serial contestants every election circle, noting that such contestants have so long stifled the youth, denying them chances of growth and progress.
“Let us face other endeavours and leave political leadership to the NEXT GENERATION of Leaders.
I INSIST that Power Must be transferred to the Next Generation of Leaders.
We cannot and should not recycle leaders, otherwise, when will the younger people have a chance to grow?”
The former Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia State whose campaign has always revolved around Transfer of Power to the Next Generation maintains that the only way to position the youth for meaningful development is to allow them take over from us after many years of holding on to power.
The elders, perennial political office holders and serial contestants must make way for the next generation of leaders to take over. We must navigate our way into other areas of human endeavour, stepping aside political leadership, while positioning ourselves for advice, direction and guidance when needed, Sir Chuku Wachuku concluded.
