Paint a Life Initiative & Arts Exhibition

Arise Afrika Magazine is pleased to inform you that history was made today as d Paint A Life Arts Exhibition Initiative of Sylvester Osuji Foundation was unveiled to the public.

The event which held at Newcastle Hotels Owerri Imo State was the first of it\’s kind. It was an opportunity to help make it happen for the less priveledge in the society through this art exhibition.
We were there to capture memories in colours.  For  us at GCFN  Consult/ Arise Afrika we combine quality service with creativity and innovation. We take away your stress.  We provide excellent proficient service, we have the right people, the strategy and operational model to deliver.

Today 15th April marked the official birth of the dream which my friend  Sylvester Osuji had  years ago.  This dream is to put smile on the faces of people, hope to the hopeless, life to the down troden and job to the jobless. He shared this with me and I volunteered to be part of the company to make this happen.

He had ealier touched me with his creativity as he did my portait and having heared of my ongoing training programme we decided to partner together on this his noble initiative.

Art is life. Art just like music is one of the ways people express their feelings and emotions about Life and experience. He was able to achieve this through Paint a Life initiative.
The convener took everyone on  the Journey of beautiful and creative art works  exhibited .

Works inspired by love, peaceful co-existence among brothers, friends and neighbours. Inspired by his passion to see younger ones feel loves, happy and focused .

\”This Paint a Life initiative is no way attached or motivated by any political ambition\” This was empasized by my friend at the Unveiling and equally used the opportunity to thank all his Paint a Life partners and motivators for allowing him to paint their faces which was used to raise funds for charity.

The Sylvester Osuji Fondation is looking forward to assisting some women, men, youths to start up business, organizing skill acquisition trainings, give to charity.

Highlight of the event includes a melodious master piece from Donaldian Ensemble,  Unveiling of artworks, Cutting of Cake, Response and fund raising, presentation of gift items by Sylvester Osuji Fondation to pulpils, less priveldged.

AMAA holds Intensive Training For Youths In Owerri

Africa Movie Academy To Hold Intensive Training For Youths Interested In Filmmaking In Owerri Imo State

Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA )mother company, the Africa Film Academy (AFA), is partnering the government of Imo State to train youths from the Eastern Nigerian state who desire a career in filmmaking.
off

AFA said in a statement on Wednesday that the training which will be intensive, is scheduled to run from April 25 to May 10, 2017 in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

In the statement signed by founder of AFA, Ms. Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, facilitators will include Segun Arinze, Paul Obazele, Tony Anih among others. “At the end of the training which will cover script-writing, photography, editing, acting, cinematography, sound, lighting etc, the students are expected to produce short films that will give practical expression to what they will learn during the programme,” she said. According to Anyiam-Osigwe, the training is meant “to introduce the prospective youths to how they can start a career in the film industry and technical production and open them to the possibilities that exist.”

“At the end of it, we expect participating students to take their interests to the next level through further education in higher institutions and other institutes where they can acquire more and in-depth knowledge.

We want to say that the Imo State Government has been kind enough to sponsor 100 students apart from providing venue and other logistics for the training and this is because of the interest of Governor Rochas Okorocha to empower the youths and create job opportunities for them. Diamond Bank as part of its CSR initiative is also sponsoring 10 students to the training while Africa Magic is also a strategic partner to make this a very successful one,” she said.

The training will be holding at My People\’s Hall behind Villa Grand Hotel, New Owerri, Imo State.

It can be recalled that when AMAA stormed Owerri last time Fred Atigogo held a training section for upcoming talents and Arise Afrika were facilotators. This time it\’s going to be bigger and better

Seize this opportunity to see that your dream come to reality.

Think beyond Borders by Strive Mayisiwa

The most successful African entrepreneurs of the future
__Think beyond borders of all kinds.

Amongst the many things I wanted to achieve with this platform was to get young African entrepreneurs to reach out and start talking to each other, doing business deals, and partnering to find solutions to Africa\’s many other challenges. I\’m not sure if you saw this comment I made during our discussion on partnerships a while back:

\”Afterthought: Here is a secret! The most successful Africans in future are those who master the ability to partner with Africans from other African countries… Shhhh! (Keep this secret to yourself, because there are many enemies out there who will try and stop you from believing this.)\”

As an entrepreneur, there are huge benefits for you if Africa can shift its economic narrative to what I sometimes refer to as \”Africanization.\” We as Africans need to open up this continent to development by Africans. However, this should not be to the exclusion of working with partners from other parts of the world, or frustrating potential investors!

Have you looked at Africa\’s numbers lately?

# Continental Africa has a population of 1.2bn people, and a GDP of $2.8Tn.

# It compares quite favorably with India which has a population of 1.3bn, and GDP of $2.6Tn.

# Assuming a compound annual growth of 5%, Africa\’s GDP as a continent can reach $30Tn in 50 years.

# This is 1.5 times bigger than the US economy today (at $19Tn), and three bigger than China today ($11Tn). This is not to suggest that we\’ll overtake China and the US, because they\’ll continue to grow naturally.

# An economy of $2.8Tn, with a population of 1.2bn people could be leveraged to unleash the type of growth we\’ve seen in China over the last 25 years, and beginning to see happen in India under PM Modi.

# In 50 years, Africa\’s population will be close to 3bn, and the economy could be $30Tn.

# Two-thirds of Africa\’s population will be under the age of 25!

# 60% of the population will live in cities (already 37% — comparable to China, higher than India\’s. Expected to be world\’s fastest urbanization from 2020 to 2050).

# If we can just increase our GDP growth by an additional 2% per annum to 7% — and sustain it and manage it well — Africa\’s future could be remarkable.

# This could completely do away with the need for any form of international development aid (currently about $60bn per annum, and being cut anyway!)

So when you hear about 5% growth or \”just 2%\”… Does that seem like a small number, and one we can easily achieve? Maybe, but any serious economist will tell you: \”Not so simple!\”

About 20 years ago, I set off on a remarkable journey. I wanted to do business in Africa, as an African. I\’ve set up businesses with entrepreneurs and partners from just about everywhere on this continent — north, south, west and east. At one time or another, I\’ve worked in every part. Sometimes I\’ve set up joint venture partnerships and other times I\’ve just sold or bought something.

A global entrepreneur once called me over a planned a massive investment he wanted to make in a certain country. Years later he said to me, \”You told me I would lose my investment, and be left with just my shirt…\” Then he symbolically took off his shirt! I wished I had been wrong but my experience with how business works there, I knew he would lose his money.

I\’ve also advised people to make investments in places where they went to look for themselves and were very surprised, in a good way!

Let me tell you, it won\’t be easy, but it\’s easier now than 20 years ago, and will be even easier going forward.

# There\’s never been a greater need than now for Africans to reach out to each other — beyond tribe, race, and national borders.

Do you see \”Africa rising\” where you are? If not, share some of your ideas what must done (not just by others, by YOU.)

Let\’s talk.

End.

ENCOURAGEMENT

One of the most hardened and notorious armed robbers in England,  Mr Daily Star, said that when he was in high school, his teacher called him to stand and read a passage in front of the class.
He was a poor reader and the harder he tried,  the more he failed. Then one day while in class,  there was general laughter because he could not read,  as usual. In the middle of the laughter,  the young Daily Star exploded  in great anger and with bloodshot eyes and clenched fists shouted as he left the class, \”ONE DAY YOU WILL FEAR ME!  YOU WILL HATE ME, BUT THIS WILL THE LAST TIME YOU WILL LAUGH AT ME!\”,  he bolted out and thereafter shook Britain in great fear till he was arrested.

What went wrong?  What\’s the lesson?  If he was just encouraged a little,  he would probably have become one of the greatest stars and responsible citizens of Britain.
Please encourage those you meet in life to pursue their dreams.  In particular,  encourage those that have failed or made mistakes.  Never laugh at them or dwell in the castle of condemnation.  Who does not make mistakes?  Help others fulfill their goals!  Be a source of success for someone.  Put courage into someone and as you scatter encouragement into other people\’s lives,  you will never lack that 13-letter word: ENCOURAGEMENT! When you help interpret other people\’s dreams,  then yours will manifest.  Make Someone  feel Encouraged and Wanted today!!!

Prayers- (1) Ask God for the grace to be an encouragement to children and those you will encounter today.  (2) Pray for discouraged and confused lives today.(3)Lord, send me encouragers,  as I encourage men today in Jesus name………… Amen
