CITATION OF CHIEF (DR) EMMANUEL CHUKWUEMEKA IWUANYANWU – LIFETIME ACHIEVER AWARD RECIPIENT

CITATION OF IMO @ 40 LIFETIME ACHIEVER AWARD RECIPIENT: CHIEF (DR) EMMANUEL CHUKWUEMEKA IWUANYANWU

In life, some leaders are simply born great; some have greatness bestowed on them by providence; while some achieve greatness by hard work. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu is indeed a rare combination of these three phenomenal traits.
Born on Friday 4 th September, 1942 to the humble Christian family of Late Pa Bernard and Late Madam Hulder Iwuanyanwu of Unuohii Atta in Ikeduru Local Government Area, Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has today risen to the pinnacle of greatness and stardom. Propelled by the virtues of hard work, honesty and unalloyed faith in God, he has attained an enviable height as a successful role model, a political colossus, an industrial giant, a dedicated soldier of Christ, a professional icon of superlative class, a pace setter, an unprecedented philanthropist, a champion of youth empowerment, a detribalized Nigerian patriot, an epitome of integrity.

He has the following academic qualification:
B.sc Hon Civil Engineering University of Nigeria Nsukka.
D.sc Engineering Morgan State University Baltimore, Maryland USA
L.ld (Hon) Shaw University Raleigh , North Carolina USA
DBA Hon University of Nigeria Nsukka
D.sc Hon University of Jos
D.sc Hon University of Calabar
D Tech Federal University of Technology Owerri
DBA (Hon) Edo State University
D.sc (Hon ) Engineering , Imo State University
Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is a registered Engineer by the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria. He is a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Fellow Institute of Civil Engineers, Fellow Institute of Science & Technology, Fellow Solar Energy Society of Nigeria and Many others.
Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is a meticulous and articulate investor, whose business empire runs through all spheres of economic endeavour.
So far, this business mogul has established twenty-two business outfits within an outside Nigeria.
In Politics, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has blazed the entire landscape like a legend. For some year, he flew the flag of Ndigbo as a frontline presidential aspirant. In the People’s Democratic Party today he is a member of the National Board of Trustees and also a member of the National Caucus of the party representing the entire South East Zone. HE served as Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo State Creation Committee, Chairman Ohaneze Ndigbo Planning and Strategy Committee, Board Chairman Federal Road Maintenance Agency, Board Chairman Nigerian Investment Promotion, Founding Chairman Raw Materials Research and Development
Council of Nigeria, Chairman National Productivity Merit Award Committee and presently Pro-Chancellor University of Calabar, just to mention a few.
In his philanthropic activities, he made contributions in the following area;
He built the Children Center in his Alma-Mater in University of Nigeria Nsukka which he dedicated to his dear mother Late Madam Hulder Iwuanyanwu.
He built and equipped Blood Transfusion Center at Federal Medical Center Owerri which was taken over by the Federal Government. Today, this center is the Center of Excellence of Blood Transfusion for the whole of South Eastern Nigeria.
Under the governorship of Gen Ike Nwachukwu Chief Emmanuel chaired a Committee on Works and Infrastructure which recommended the building of Imo airport. He argued that Imo state at a time which comprised the present Imo, Abia and Ebonyi States was landlocked. And besides, the State was a home of many prominent entrepreneurs who regularly flew to other parts of the world for their business. This project was commenced with contributions from the then Imo Communities. At a stage when the project was suspended for lack of fund, leaders from Owerri Zone, the Zone in which the Airport was located held a meeting with the Military Governor at the time who explained that N2 million was required from the Government in order to continue the Airport project. Owerri Zone subsequently promised to pay the N2 million. The cheque for this project was handed over to Late Hezekiah Ofurum who was then a Commissioner under Governor Madueke. Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu paid this N2 million on behalf of Owerri people. It is important to note that at that time, N2 million was more than $2million (Two Million Dollars). Chief Emmanuel Iwuanaynwu did not request for any refund from Owerri Zone or the Government.
When the Airport was completed, the Airport was not commissioned to any use as the Federal Government at a time argues that it was very close to Port Harcourt Airport. Chief Iwuanyanwu established Oriental Airlines and brought in Six Air-Crafts that operated between Owerri, Abuja, Kano and Maduigiri. Other Airlines found this route profitable and followed Oriental Airlines. Today Imo Airport is a beehive of Commercial Activities.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu established Champion Newspapers to create a balance in the dissemination of information which was dominated by Press outside Igboland. Champion Newspapers indeed gave Igbos a sense of belonging.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu established Iwuanyanwu National Football Club which was an offshoot of Spartans Football club which was virgin for disbandment. Iwuanyanwu National Football for many years dominated the lead, winning the league and FA Champion and Charity Cup a number of times. It is historic to note that Iwuanyanwu  Nationale Club was the first Club to win the profession league in Nigeria.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu made a lot of other contributions to the development of sports through Iwuanayanwu Sports and Athletic Foundation and Iwuanyanwu Comet
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu established Iwuanyanwu Foundation which awarded University scholarship to many gifted students to study in tertiary institutions. All together he has trained over 3,000 Nigerian youths in his scholarship programme.
Chief Iwuanyanwu was the Chairman of Owerri Chambers of Commerce. HE was a strong advocate of homeward integration by businessmen from Igboland. By this policy, he insisted that Igbo entrepreneurs should invest part of their businesses in Igboland to create goods, services and employment for the youths of Igboland. He set example of this by establishing most of his businesses in Owerri and even in his village Atta, Ikeduru.
. Chief Iwuanyanwu made substantial contributions to the development of many communities in Imo State for the provision of light, water and roads.
. Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu appreciated that most people in Igboland are Christians of various denominations; he therefore supported many Christian projects in Igboland.
. Around 1987, when the military indicted their intention to hand over power, leaders of Imo State comprising Imo, Abia and part of Ebonyi met at the palace of Onuegwunwoke in Owerri in order to select a Spokesman for the Igbos. At that time, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was still a young man and the leadership was expected to fall in the hands of older leaders such as Dr Jaja Wachukwu, Chief R.B.K Okafor and Dr. J.O.J Okezie. At a well attended meeting by all Traditional Rulers, Political leaders and Religious leaders in Igboland, these three older leaders failed to step down for the other to be the rallying point for the Igbos. After many hours of deliberation, the Traditional Rulers announced that they were going on a caucus to select somebody. We all agreed to accept whoever they selected. After their deliberation which lasted for One hour, they came back from their meeting and announcement was made by HRM Eze Benard Enweremandu in behalf of the Traditional Rulers that they have selected a younger person Chief Emmanuel Iwuanywu to carry this assignment. The three leading politicians Chied R.B. K Okafor, Dr. Jaja Wachukwu and D. J.O.J Okezie one after the other declared their support for Chief Iwuanyanwu. Chief Iwuanyanwu was therefore unanimously appointed the Spokesman for Igbo people on all political issues.
Subsequently, all the meetings about the creation of Ebonyi State were held in Chief Iwuanyanwu’s residence. Later when Ebonyi was being created, the dispute between Afikpo and Abakiliki areas was also resolved in Chief Iwuanyanwu’s house
Chief Iwuanyanwu therefore has played major role in shaping the life and destiny of Igbo people.
In recognition of his selfless services to humanity, Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu is a recipient of an avalanche of International and National awards and titles including Ahaejiagamba Ndibo conferred on him by Chairman of Traditional Rulers Representing the seven Igbo Stated of Nigeria.
In all his houses, he established of Chapel of Holy Bethel where constant praises and prayers are offered to the Almighty God. All through his life, he had remained a dedicated soldier of the Christ, using his time, money, intellect and other resources in the effective propagation of the Gospel. He is the member of the Order of Knights of St Christopher in the Anglican Communion.
His philosophy of life is appropriately encapsulated in his speech on Monday 11th November, 1985 when he handed over a Blood Transfusion Center which he built, furnished and donated to the Imo State Government and I quote:
“I believe in the Supreme Being. He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent. He is all loving and all wise. He is the Almighty God.
I believe that the highest fulfillment, the greatest happiness and the wildest usefulness if the individual can only be realized in harmony with the divine will of the Almighty God.
I believe in the supreme worth of the individual, in his right to life and liberty and pursuit of happiness.
I believe in the sacredness of human life and human right.
I believe that every right implies a responsibility, every opportunity an obligation and every possession a duty.
I believe in dignity of labour whether with the head or with the hand.
I believe that the goof God in his infinite mercy has bestowed mankind with sundry gifts and whatever gift bestowed on any man is given to him by the good Lord in sacred trust and man should use such gifts to promote love, happiness and peace among the people of all races and creed.
I believe that the world owes no man a living but owes every man an opportunity to make a living.
I believe that love is the greatest thing in the world and it can over-come hate, greed and rancor.
I believe that the rendering of useful service is the common duty of mankind and the greatest happiness and peace of the human soul can be attained in rendering such services.
I believe that truth,  justice and equity are fundamental pre-requisites to an enduring social order that right can and will always triumph over might.
I believe in the sacredness of promise, that man’s word should be as good os a bond, that character not wealth or power or possession is of supreme worth.
I believe that prudence is essential to well ordered living and that economy is a pre-requisite of a sound financial structure whether in government, business or personal affairs.
And finally, I believe that law is made for man and not man for law and that government is the servant of the people and not the master and no individual can be greater than the society in which he lives.”
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, we present to you, Chief (Dr.) Engr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu CRR, OFR, MFR,FNSE, FNICE,KSC AHAEJIAGAMBA NDIGBO, a distinguished , illustrious and celebrated Nigerian. A living legend of our time. His heritage if humility. His profession is pragmatism. His legacy is diligence and prudence. His promise is versatility spiced with magnanimity.

Obasanjo kicks off programme to end hunger in Nigeria

Obasanjo kicks off programme to end hunger in Nigeria

FORMER president  Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday launched a report on Nigeria Zero Hunger Strategy aimed at reducing hunger in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general by the year 2030.

The programme, which was organised by the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) gathered together private sectors, civil societies and the public sector to deliberate on possible ways to end hunger in the country.

Addressing members of the committees on zero Former president Obasanjo said the destiny of millions of people in Africa will be redefined through the implementation of the Zero Hunger Strategy policy.

He further added that the policy was not aimed at changing any government existing policies but to act as framework for the implementation of policies that will end hunger in Nigeria.

His words: “we are here to begin a new journey that will redefine the destiny of hundreds of millions of people in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular. This day is significant as we put our efforts together to launch the Nigeria Zero Hunger road map that will unlock the potential of our nation and emancipate our dear country from the shackles of hunger and poverty.

“The Zero Hunger Strategic Review was not an attempt to change any government policies. As this synthesis report demonstrates, the initiative was undertaken to support and encourage government to implement policies, strategies, plans and programmes that have been formulated over many years, and to do so with a focus on achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2 by 2030,if not earlier.

Expressing his expectation for the report to be implemented in the 36 states starting from January this year, Chief Obasanjo said that the Nigeria Zero Hunger Forum will monitor the progress of the implementation in four pilot states including Benue, Ebonyi, Ogun and Sokoto states.

“I expect that the actions the action recommended in our report will be implemented in all 36 states plus Abuja starting from January 2017. The Nigeria Zero Hunger Forum will support, encourage and monitor progress in Benue, Ebonyi, Ogun and Sokoto states during 2017 and 2018.

“The governors of these states have already agreed that they will make implementing the Zero hunger road map a priority. In January 2019, eight more states will be added to our focus and by January 2021, all 36 states plus Abuja will be included.

Speaking further, the former president said the forum will ensure that the recommendations contained in the synthesis report and the individual subcommittee reports were implemented, stressing “we must do all we can so that this effort does not suffer the fate of previous endeavours.”

“The key to achieving Zero Hunger depends on implementation and our collective will. Let me reiterate that the task of attaining zero in Nigeria cannot be left to the government alone; neither can it be left to the civil society nor the private sector alone.

“There must be strong support for farmers at all levels, and for producers’ or farmers’ organisations, and government must additionally provide the right policies, regulations, incentives.

“We must address the humanitarian situation in the North-East and put into place holistic development and growth solutions that will make it difficult for insurrection to take root.

The Director General ITTA, Dr Ntaramya Sannginga, said the report is innovative and IITA would offer advance technologies for all the four pilot states.

Tony Elumelu who spoke on behalf of the sub committees said the private sector has a major role to play in the achievement of the Zero Hunger and the federal and state government should be willing to provide the enabling environment.

Teacher beheaded 10-year-old pupil because she provoked him

Teacher beheaded 10-year-old pupil because she provoked him

One Edet Umoren, a teacher in a private school who beheaded a 10-year-old pupil, Precious Adedeji, last Thursday in Ogun State, said he was provoked by the victim and the head teacher, who is the wife of the proprietor.
The 52-year-old indigene of Akwa Ibom State said he committed the crime because Adedeji and the head teacher made him angry by some uncomplimentary remarks they made.
The deceased, Adedeji, a pupil of Favour Nursery and Primary School in Esugbo, Itamerin, near Ijebu-Ife, in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of the state, was the granddaughter of the proprietor, Pastor Joseph Olutoye.
Umoren confessed before newsmen on Monday while being paraded at the headquarters of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Magbon, Abeokuta, along with six suspected kidnappers and a suspected Boko Haram member by the state Commissioner of Police, CP, Abdulmajid Ali.
The CP said the suspect, who ran away after committing the crime, was later arrested at Itamagiri in Ijebu Imusin.

Umoren was alleged to have also severed the right hand of Adedeji.
He allegedly attacked Adedeji, who was in company of her friend, Patricia.
They were said to be on their way back to the school when Umoren allegedly pounced on them. She was killed by the assailant a day after her 10th birthday.
Patricia, who escaped from the scene, was said to have run back to the school to inform the proprietor of the attack by “uncle Edet (Umoren).”
According to Umoren, “That morning, I held a cutlass which I used to cut canes in the bush to discipline pupils. The girl (Adedeji) and the head teacher saw me and made some remarks which provoked me; then I used the cutlass to behead her.”
“I never knew what came over me; it was when I had carried out the act that I regained my senses. I regret my action.”
Umoren, who said he was married with three children, stated that he had a pupil he was sponsoring in the school, adding that the school fees was deducted from his salary.
The suspect who had been in the employ of the school since 2011, explained that the proprietor owed him four years’ salary arrears, adding that his salary was N7, 000 per month and not N4, 000.
Umoren, who until the incident was the treasurer of the proprietor’s church, was also accused of allegedly stealing over N250, 000 from the church.
He said what he took from the church fund was about N50, 000, claiming it was part of the salary arrears being owed him.
The proprietor, Olutoye, expressed shock at Umoren’s action, saying the teacher left two notes at the scene of the crime, claiming that he committed the crime because of the failure of the proprietor to pay him his January and February salary.

WHY THE WORLD SHOULD INVEST IN AFRICAN FASHION

WHY THE WORLD SHOULD INVEST IN AFRICAN FASHION

Africa’s economy has continued growing rapidly on the back of success recorded in some sectors like manufacturing, which has now beamed light on the importance of the continent’s fashion industry and the immense opportunities inherent therein.
Investors are being reminded again of the golden opportunity yet to be effectively exploited in the continent’s fashion industry.
The continent has shown eagerness to develop its clothing (apparel manufacturing) capacities for some time now but efforts have been frustrated by dearth of infrastructure, capital and Asia’s domination of the industry globally.

However, with cost of production rising in China, Africa may have been presented a golden opportunity to ‘reclaim’ its fashion industry and invite long term Investments..
Africa is home to seven fastest growing economies in the world and  about 70percent of the continents’ population live in countries that have experienced average growth in excess of 4 percent over the past decade. Although the statistics are interesting, African fashion industry currently contributes only a small fraction of what it is capable of contributing to the continent’s GDP says Deola Sagoe, a Nigerian designer, who has been a force in the industry for the past 25 years.
According to Sagoe, African fashion can become a $15.5 billion industry in the next five years, as personal income increase and the continents economies grow.

The International monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that sub-Saharan Africa would continue its impressive economic growth in 2016, picking up from 4.9 percent in to about 51.2 percent this year. This growth highlights the potentials of the industry, which has been said to be yet to reach its full potentials.
African fashion has enjoyed massive media presence in recent times, which meand the world is now aware of the industry and the capabilities of its designers. Several designers from the continent today feature in international fashion shows: 10 African designers are participating at the African Fashion Week New York, which joined the prestigious New York Fashion week. Fashionistas around the world and prospective investors alike have had another opportunity to see African creativity first-hand.
The success of some African designers on the international scene has shown the world that given the right investment, African designers can compete on the world stage. Investors sure have been watching the industry for a while and have watched it grow this much. Now is the time to invest.

BREAKING NEWS: Buhari sacks man blamed for Adeboye’s retirement saga.

BREAKING NEWS: Buhari sacks man blamed for Adeboye’s retirement saga.

The man mentioned as the cause of the retirement controversy involving legendary cleric, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, suddenly lost his job on Monday evening, December 9, 2017.
The Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) was cited by Pastor Adeboye on Saturday morning while announcing his retirement as General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Reports this morning said that Mr. Jim Obazee, until minutes ago Executive Secretary of the FRC, had disobeyed his supervising minister, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, who reportedly advised him to suspend the implementation of an FRC regulation which requires the heads of all registered churches, mosques, and other non-profit organisations a maximum of 20 years
in office and to thereafter hand over to someone from outside their families. Mr. Obazee reportedly vowed not to obey Mr. Enelamah’s letter on the issue, saying that only an official gazette on the issue would stop him.

A statement just issued in Abuja by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity), says the Board of the Council has been dissolved and immediately reconstituted.
Entitled ‘Buhari Approves the Reconstitution of the
Financial Reporting Council of N’, the statement says:
“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate removal and the replacement of the Executive Secretary and the reconstitution of the board of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRN). He  has appointed a Chairman and a new Executive Secretary for the council.
“The new Council as approved by the President has Mr  Adedotun Sulaiman, MFR as Chairman.
Mr. Sulaiman was a former Managing Partner/Director
of Arthur Anderson and later, Accenture. He is a Chartered Accountant and a product of the University
of Lagos and Harvard Business School.
“The President has also approved the appointment of Mr. Daniel Asapokhai as the Executive Secretary of the Council.
“Mr. Asopokhai is a partner and a Financial Reporting Specialist at the PricewaterHouseCoopers (PWC), Nigeria.
“He is a product of the University of Lagos and the University of Pretoria.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has also instructed the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment to invite the nineteen ministries, departments and agencies of
the Federal Government and private sector organizations specified in the FRC Act to nominate members of the board of the council.”

Pastor Adeboye, who has  led RCCG since 1981, had on Saturday morning announced his retirement as RCCG General Overseer at
the Annual Ministers Thanksgiving of the church held at the Redemption Camp located along the Lagos- Ibadan Expressway. He went ahead to announce Pastor
Joseph Obayemi as the new General Overseer.

However, as news of the shocking announcement spread, the 74-year-old cleric reneged on his word and assumed the newly created position of General
Overseer of RCCG Worldwide – a position alien to the constitution of the church – while Pastor Obayemi would be restricted to heading the Nigerian operations
of RCCG.

As reported on Sunday, the FRC regulation, if enforced, would lead to an earthquake in Pentecostal churches in Nigeria, where the founder
usually heads the church for life and is succeeded by a family member.

With Obazee’s sack and the dissolution of the FRC Board, President Buhari has saved the jobs of many other prominent Pentecostal church leaders who have
since passed the 20-year threshold. Among them are Pastor Kumuyi, who has spent 43 years as the General Overseer of Deeper Life Ministry; Bishop Mike
Okonkwo of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (35 years); Winners Chapel’s Bishop David Oyedepo (35 years); Daniel Kolawole Olukoya of the Mountain of Fire
and Miracles Ministries (22); Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of Word of Life Bible Church (29 years); Rev. Chris Okotie of the Household of God (29 years); Kingsway
International Christian Centre’s Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo (24 years);. Others are Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Believers’
LoveWord International (26 years); Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre (21 years); Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly (27 years);
House on the Rock’s Pastor Paul Adefarasin (22 years), among others.

Buhari: N5,000 Stipend from Federal Government to Poorest of the Poor not Politicized.

The Presidency has confirmed that those who benefited from the monthly N5,000 stipend from the Federal Government to vulnerable Nigerians, were selected before President Muhammadu Buhari came into power.

This was contained in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to the Vice-President, Laolu Akande, on Sunday.

The sum of N5,000 have been paid to beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer in nine States including: Bauchi, Borno, Cross Rivers, Ekiti, Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Osun and Oyo.

Akande said the Community-Based Targeting (CBT) model of the World Bank, was used two years ago to identify most of them.

He said: “there is no way anyone can describe the selection of the beneficiaries of the CCT as partisan as the beneficiaries from eight of the nine pilot States were picked even before this administration came into office.”

“First, the officials at Federal level, working with the State officials, identify the poorest Local Government Areas, using an existing poverty map for the State, then the LG officials identify the poorest communities in the LGAs and we send our teams there.

“The first thing our team does after selection of the LGAs is to select members of the NOA, the LGA and community officials to form the CBT team.  Then we train the selected officials on how to conduct Focus Group discussions at community level. These focus groups comprise of women, men, youth, as the community determines.

“After training them, the CBT teams now go to each of their communities to sensitize the leaders, including traditional rulers, on the CBT process and the necessity for objectivity and openness in the process. At that meeting, they firm up a date to convene a community meeting at a designated location within the community.

“On the set date, discussions are held in the local languages, using terminologies that resonate in that community. The CBT team will explain to the community the purpose of the gathering, i.e. to determine the parameters of poverty upon which persons can be described as poor and vulnerable within the context of that community.

“The CBT teams will then engage each group (men, women and youth) in the conversation around the criteria and parameters for determining the poorest people. The groups would then be encouraged to identify those households that fall within the criteria that the community itself determines, and told that the information is required for government’s planning purposes.

2017: LET\’S PRESS ON TOWARDS THE FINISH LINE – Ik Anyanwu

Cristiano Ronaldo – FIFA Best Player of the year

I wish to use this opportunity to congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo for emerging FIFA Best player of the year!
It\’s no mean feat.It\’s a well deserved honour for this great footballer who had a wonderful year. Won every trophy that could be both on club level and as a country.

I am really inspired by him as we begin the year and urge all our followers @ Arise Afrika to be hungry for more success this year.
How great do you want to be in this year 2017 and beyond?
How serious are you about being successful?
Is your desire for success as strong as your desire to live?
How many risks can you take to achieve success?
How many sleepless nights can you observe to succeed?.
How many Handwork can you put in to make your dream a reality?
Can you deprive yourself of your comfort zone in other to surpass yourself?

You can end this year outstanding like Cristiano Ronaldo. One great lesson   I would like to share with you all is to PRESS ON TOWARDS THE FINISH LINE.

Persistence, determination are keys to success in life.
Beloved only when you are slightly uncomfortable in life can you grow. The increase, growth you desire will only come about by measure of some discomfort.
One sure way you can become better is by pushing yourself.
Tell yourself “This is not the best that I can be, I am better than this. This is not my space, this is not where I am designed to be” and before you know it, you will see yourself fly.
I remember vividly the story of the farmer who went into the forest and saw the egg of an Eagle which he brought and kept among that of a hen. All hatched eventually and the baby eagle grew among the chicks. He was until a time when he looked up to the sky and saw an Eagle flying up in the Sky. He longed to be like that bird up there.
He just couldn’t understand why he should be scratching like the chicks. He was not comfortable. The bird up in the sky kept noticing that this one too is sort of different from this ones and kept encouraging him to take a leap. Which he eventually did after the Eagle gave him some push.
You got to push yourself this year.

– Those who think that they would break at the end of the day never break.
That problem you think would crush you at the end of the day will make you better.
As we begin the year 2017,  don’t get excited at yet, set your eyes on the finish line. Better is the end of a matter than the beginning thereof.  Only when you push yourself can you grow. IT is by doing the difficult things  that makes you a stronger human being. But usually are things we  usually run away from.
Liberty is sweet but liberty has some measure of responsibility.
Are you ready to push yourself this year 2017?
People can go as much to push you but the ultimate push comes  from you.
You can take a horse to the stream to drink but you cannot force the horse to drink water. Some people are comfortable with bondage\’s, it makes people to sympathize with them, say “sorry , ndoo how can we help you?”
Most people we see with injury, they have self inflicted wounds to draw sympathy because they are not ready to take responsibility.
Some  enjoy laziness because they get free things. The Liberty we are talking about today is for growing up.
Your personal breakthrough is your personal responsibility.
How many are ready to push themselves?
Galatians 4
“An heir as long as he remaineth a child will be under control. Remain under tutelage, but when he grows up, he steps into his inheritance”
We need to grow up to match up to where we are going. To fit into where God is taking you.
The children of Israel after God took them out of bondage at  a time, they prayed to go back to Egypt(bondage) because their master had provided for them while in slavery.
That’s the reason most people don’t get married.
“me, so that another man would control me.” They have a twisted mindset concerning marriage.
When the prodigal son came to himself,  he matured  after going through suffering he changed from the mentality of “give me” to “make me”

It is by going the difficult things that seem impossible at the very beginning that makes you a stronger human being.
In this life, we are all starters at some point but at the end not all would win. Not all will finish.
Everyone has started 2017. But not all would finish, not all would finish.
What will determine how we will finish is our perseverance. Your eyes must be on the finish line.
Paul said “We  must run to win”
The way you start the year matters. Why is it important that we must run to win? We all have a race to finish.
HEB 12:1 & 1, Heb 11: 1, Acts 20:23-24.
Just as Apostle Paul, Bishop Oyedepo, Bro Emma Okorie, Ik Anyanwu  has ministry. You also have a ministry. Everyone of us have a ministry.

Your Race is your walk with God
Your Ministry is your work for God
Ministry is not only in the church. Your ministry may be in that place God has planted you.  i.e your office, school, neighborhood, wherever you may find yourself.
You can finish without wining. But you cannot win without finishing”
Don’t struggle to win. Fight to finish. Because if you finish, you are an automatic winner. You know why? The race we all are running has a time frame. As long as you finish, you are a winner. All us are timed. We all have 365 days this year. Your own year is not higher than my own year.  No one has more than the order.
God has graciously given to us all what we need that pertains to this life and we must all work hard at becoming the best that God has created us to be.
Have a finishers mentality.  A finisher puts into mind all the details. Don’t just target for wining at all cost, cutting corners to win. Some athletes  at the end of a tournament are striped of the medals, prize or honor because they took hard drugs, or one misconduct or another. It might be after some years.
You can finish without wining but you cannot win without finishing.
THE SECRETS ABOUT IT IS IN: Enlarging, Increasing your capacity for more, and perseverance
Welcome to 2017, its my prayer that God would impact you with all that you need to succeed in Jesus name.
The woman of issue of blood said, “If only I can touch the helm of his garment, I believe that I would be made whole”
She persisted. And kept on pushing through the crowd/
With her consistent flow, I believe she was not strong but she persevered, and kept going. Some of us need to understand that a little discomfort will make a difference.
_ An extra prayer, an extra searching of scriptures, An extra giving, Fasting will make a great difference this year.
Struck down but not destroyed.

Prayer
1SAIAH 10:27
“The yoke shall be broken by the risen of anointing”

ISH 46:13
“I am ready to set things right, not in distant future, but right now.”
