Sequel to the Covid-19 test conducted on Members and staff of the Imo State House of Assembly on Tuesday, 16th June 2020, as directed by the Imo State COVID-19 Task Force, it has been confirmed that about 12 honourable members and 40 Management Staff, have tested positive.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri the State capital, a reliable source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that it was confirmed that Twelve (12) House of Assembly lawmakers and forty (40) Management Staff tested positive.
He maintained that he was not surprised about the test that came out because, according to him, the honourable members were making use of one microphone during the plenary.
It was reliably gathered that shortly after the Covid19 test that took place, members and some management staff were too afraid of the outcome because of their close relationship with one another
Though all efforts to reach some of the members and some management staff as at the time of filing this story proved abortive.
Meanwhile, the Imo State House of Assembly was closed down last week, for a period of two weeks, as many members and staff tested positive to Coronavirus, being the out come of the COVID-19 test conducted on them.
Kudos to Professor Maurice Iwu led Imo COVID-19 task force for rising promptly to the occasion.
More searchlight should, therefore, be beamed to all corners of the state by the Task Force in order to get Imo State completely rid of the scourge.
