The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Kennedy Chidozie Ibeh, on Monday, received showers of commendations from All Progressive Congress (APC) Obowo ward youth leaders,, for his unparallel and quality representation in Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA).
The group made up of the APC Youths leaders in the 10 INEC wards in Obowo local government area, made the commendation when they paid the Speaker a courtesy call in his Owerri residence.
The chairman of the group, Hon. Okey Okafor, said that the youth have come to learn and seek direction from the Speaker, whom he said has done well for Obowo people.
While hailng the cordial working relationship that exist between the executive and legislature, Hon. Okafor assured the Speaker that Obowo youth leaders are submissive and loyal to him. He called on him not to relent in doing the good works he is known for.
The speaker, who exppresed joy on the visit, described the youths as the strength of the party and urged them to preach peace and unity.
He noted that peace and unity are two elements that will guarantee development of Obowo local government
The Rt Hon. Speaker took time to take the youths through marathon of incisive and educative lecture, he called on then to be patient in politics and eschew pull,-him- down sydrone.
The Speaker charged them to be sincere and straight forward in their political career, explaining that though success of a sincere man may tarry, but will surely come in a manner that will beat the imagination of many.
Using his career as an example, the Speaker said that God has been the source of his political rise as he has always tried to be true to himself and to others.
He further explained that not many people understand the responsibility of a lawmaker, hence they erronously think that it is the duty of a lawmaker to award contract, offer employment construct roads, build schools among others.
He however pledged unreserved support to the youths and promised to assist them in any way he can to ensure that APC and Obowo move to an enviable heights.
