The candidacy of Hon. Chike Okafor, the APC for Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo federal constituency in the forthcoming 2023 general election can best be described as unifying and the collective mandate of the people. Hence, the entire Okigwe South see him and only him in the race back to the National Assembly owing to his antecedents.
Over the years as a lawmaker, Hon. Chike Okafor has continued to distinguish himself in the business of lawmaking and rather than self-seeking motives, places his people first and his humane nature as a leader goes beyond the shores of his constituency, zone and the State. In fact, he has become a household name in the state as everybody identifies him easily as an exceptional lawmaker. A personality that is rare in times like this by politicians of the same footing.
His interest for another legislative tenure in 2023 behooves on us to look towards continuity as the only means for a continued legislative impact through quality projects, infrastructural development, employment, empowerment, adequate medical interventions and many others. Hon. Chike Okafor’s sojourn to the House of Representatives has offered his people an opportunity to be integrated back into the scheme of development and enjoy dividends of democracy that comes from effective legislative representation viz-a-viz constituency projects.
While it has become imperative for Hon. Chike Okafor to be re-elected come 2023, the good people of Ehime mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo should again consider the ranking system of the National Assembly which places much respect on lawmakers who have been in the house for at least two successive legislative tenures. This in-house politics gives an edge to such members to be in the reckoning of principal positions that can be advantageous to their constituency and there is no doubt that Hon. Chike Okafor will clinch one of the positions.
Rather than a greenhorn or one who doesn’t fit into the aforementioned legislative politics, there is no second guessing as to who should represent Ehime mbano/Ihitte uboma/Obowo federal Constituency. Chike Okafor is the man.
There is no better person who can consolidate and sustain on the numerous achievements of Hon. Chike Okafor. While he continues to seek for ways to better the lives of his constituents, he has looked away from nepotism to embrace all as one united people in Okigwe south and this is why his signature projects can be seen and felt in his constituency and beyond.
As the journey towards 2023 begins, the good people of Ehime mbano/Ihitte uboma and Obowo federal Constituency should rally round the candidacy of Hon. Chike Okafor as their best shot towards a principal position in the National Assembly while leveraging on his unparalleled achievements and uncommon representation which has changed the socio-economic landscape of the constituency to support and vote for him.
In all, Okigwe South wins!
