Yesterday, 29th Day of October, 2022 is symbolic to Christendom, in many ways.

To the Christians In Umuokeh, Obowo especially, members of St Mark’s Anglican Church, it was jubilation galore as this special and memorable day was set aside to dedicate the new church Parsonage, built and well furnished by the Hon Member, Representing Obowo State Constituency at IMHA, Rt Hon. Barr Kennedy Ibeh.

Thanksgiving

It will be recalled that the Priest-In-Charge of the parish has operated from an unconducive environment for several years now, until the Emeritus Speaker, and member Representing Obowo at Imo State House of Assembly took it upon himself to build a well befitting Parsonage which he also furnished to the glory of God.

This is a great moment for the Christian community in Umuokeh Obowo as the Parsonage would go a long way in facilitating the work of God. The Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province & Bishop of Okigwe South Diocese, Most Revd. Dr David Okechukwu Chikezie Onuoha showered encomiums on Rt Hon Barr Kennedy Ibeh, referring to him as a rare breed among leaders, because he endeavoured to keep his promise and completed the building project in record time despite the challenges this period.

According to him, this is a defining moment for Christian faith in Nigeria, because it is uncommon to have people like Rt Hon Barr Kennedy Ibeh who are selfless and committed to bringing about development in Obowo. He commended his unwavering faith in God and prayer for God’s protection and guidance.

Prayers were offered on behalf of Emeritus Speaker and amiable wife Rt Hon Barr and Mrs Kennedy Ibeh by the ArcBishop and all the presiding priests present.

Reception followed immediately after the Thanksgiving Dedication Service at the Umuezela, Umuokeh Obowo.

Other dignitaries at the occasion includes, Rt Hon Dcn Chike Okafor PhD, Hon Prince Dan Chukwuocha, Hon Barr Mrs Lilian Okeke, Hon Barr Kelchi Onyegbule, Dr Eli Dibia, Hon Dr Mrs Comfort Eneregbu, Hon Ifeanyi Onwueyiagba, Hon Dr Raymond Emerenini, HRM Ngozi Patrick Uwalaka, HRH B.O Ihejirika, Revd Canon & Mrs Samuel Chikezie, The Parish Priest, Obowo Central, Rev Canon Alex Egbulefu, Priest In Charget clergy; Revd Emmanuel Chinedum & Mrs Ngozi Ozuruonye Pastor Timothy and other clergyman
