Former Secretary to Imo State Government(SSG), Chief Barr Chris Okewulonu has felicitated with Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu on his elevation as the President-General of the Apex Igbo social- cultural Organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo.
Barr Okewulonu made his feelings known over the weekend while reacting on the adoption of Nze Chukwu as the President – General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
According to Okewulonu who was a Commissioner for Information and Culture in Imo State, the elevation of Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu whom he described as one of the best brains in Imo State, as the Present- General of Ohaneze Igbo world wide is a well deserved appointment and a square peg in a square hole.
The ex-lawmaker pointed out that with Nze Chukwu’s outstanding academic background and wealth of experience both in public and private sectors,including serving as Managing Director of Nigeria Merchant Bank, that he will,no doubt, do outstandingly well in his new position as the President – General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
Okewulonu however praised Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu’s courage, integrity, and principled approach to leadership which he stressed, assisted him(Ozichukwu) alot in achieving the high level of successes he recorded in his previous positions of authority.
He assured the Igbo Community that Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu as the President – General of Ohaneze Ndigbo will bring more unity and progress among the Igbos while his tenure last.
Ebekuodike Obowo however expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of Ohaneze Ndigbo world wide for ensuring that Imo State complete her tenure in producing the President- General of the Apex Igbo social Cultural Organization after the demised of Chief Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo).
It will be recalled that Imo State had produced late Ambassador Prof. George Obiozor and Late Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as President- Generals of Ohaneze Ndigbo respectively.
The tenure of Imo State as President- General of Ohaneze Ndigbo is expected to end on January 10,2025.
