Today’s International Girl Child Summit was indeed a huge success.
According to social post by the Co-host and Founder Arise Africa Network, Anyanwu Ikechukwu.
It states as follows;
INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD SUMMIT 2024✅
I am privileged to inspire you today at this Girl Child Conference put together by Arise Afrika Network of Nigeria in partnership with Girl Child Initiative Outreach and Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation
Topic: Empowering the Girl Child: Unlocking a Brighter Future !
Every girl deserves the chance to shine.
Empowering the girl child is crucial for breaking cycles of poverty, inequality, and social injustice.
By providing access to education, healthcare, and opportunities, we can:
– Boost confidence and self-esteem
– Foster independence and self-reliance
– Promote equal rights and opportunities
– Encourage innovation and leadership
– Break down cultural and societal barriers
I encouraged them to
– Dream big
– Learn without limits
– Grow without fear
– Thrive without constraints
It was a robust time with female students drawn from 10 Secondary Schools in Imo State as I discussed various topics with them.
Firstly these young girls were made to understand that when one want to find out about a product, you take a look at the manual.
The manual is the mind of the manufacturer about the product.
Therefore for us to have a very good understanding about who you are, you have to take a look at what God says about you.
Who are you? That’s a question we all should carefully answer so as not to have identity crisis.
You shouldn’t see yourselves only based on your gender. You are much more. The world today would show you various perspectives and views…but what is God’s purpose for creating you.
I also spoke to them about POWER OF CHOICE
They should learn to say ” No”. Do not say Yes when you want to say No. No to Peer pressure.
Stop doing things because it is popular among peers because most times the crowd may be wrong.
Dan 1:8. Titus 2:11-12.
Rather go alone than with the wrong crowd.
Most times what shapes our future is the type of our choices.
