Patience Jonathan Sues EFCC For Placing ‘No Debit Order’ On $31.4m Account

Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan has filed a N200m fundamental rights enforcement suit against Skye Bank Plc, following the freezing of four bank accounts, which she claims the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has used to inconvenience and embarrass her.
The four accounts, lodged with Skye Bank Plc, are in the name of four companies which is said to have a balance of $31.4m

The four companies are Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Development Company Limited and Globus Integrated Service Limited.
In an affidavit filed before the court and deposed to by one Sammie Somiari, a legal practitioner on behalf of Patience Jonathan, the deponents claims that the EFCC placed a No Debit Order on the four accounts in July in the course of probing one Waripamo Dudafa, a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
After its investigations, the EFCC went ahead to file an amended 17-count against Dudafa and seven others, including the four companies, with the defendants being accused of conspiring to conceal the monies which the EFCC claimed they ought to have known formed parts of the proceeds of an unlawful act.
In the affidavit however, Sammie Somiari claims that it was Dudafa who helped Mrs Patience Jonathan to open the four bank accounts which the EFCC froze.
According to him, Dudafa had on March 22, 2010 brought two Skye Bank officers, Demola Bolodeoku and Dipo Oshodi, to meet the former first lady at home to open five accounts.
He, however, claimed that after the five accounts were opened, Mrs Patience Jonathan later discovered that Dudafa opened only one of the accounts in her name while the other four were opened in the names of companies belonging to Dudafa.
Somiari added “that Mrs Jonathan complained about this to Honourable Dudafa, who at her prompting and instance promised to effect the change of the said accounts to the applicant’s name; and to effect this change, Honourable Dudafa brought the said bank manager, Mr. Dipo Oshodi, who claimed to have effected the changes. This was about April 2014.
“The bank official, Mr. Dipo Oshodi, as it would appear did not effect or reflect the instruction of the applicant to change the said accounts to her name(s) despite repeated requests.
The deponent also claims that Mrs Patience Jonathan who is said to be away for an urgent medical treatment abroad, is the sole signatory to the accounts as the money belongs to her.
The affidavit also said that the ATM credit cards bearing the said companies’ names were brought to Mrs Jonathan by the bank manager who promised to replace them once the cards bearing the changed names were available, but he never did.
“However, since 2010 up until 2014 and thereafter, Mrs Jonathan had been using the cards on the said accounts and operating the said accounts without let or hindrance. Even in May, June and July 2016, the former First Lady traveled overseas for medical treatment and was using the said credit cards abroad up until July 7, 2016 or thereabouts when the cards stopped functioning.”
In her fundamental rights action before the court, the wife of the former President is asking the court to compel the EFCC to immediately vacate the “No Debit Order” placed on her accounts.
She also says the action of the EFCC without a court order or prior notice to her is illegal, overbearing and constitutes a breach of her fundamental rights as enshrined in Section 33, 34, 35 & 36 of the 1999 Constitution.
She wants the court to order Skye Bank to pay her damages in the sum of N200m for what she termed a violation of her right to own personal property under Section 44 of the Constitution.
The EFCC on its part is set to arraign the former Presdent’s aide, Dudafa and his alleged accomplices for money laundering before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
The case will be heard on Thursday, Sept 15.

The time to act is not 2019 but now. It\’s about  time for us  youths to rise up to the challenges facing us. Alone is a voice but together is a force. The youths are a force to be reckoned with and would midwife the desired change in this country. \”
In their press release 7 days to the kick off of 2 days LEADERSHIP SUMMIT. They advised the youths. Read the statement of the group below the pix cut

Mr Ikechukwu Anyanwu -Publisher Arise Afrika

NIGERIAN YOUTHS LEADERSHIP AND THE WAY FORWARDA youth is an individual filled with vigor, activeness, strength and capability. One who has his future ahead with much value to offer to the world and ready for service. The continuity of the nation depends solely on the youths.
Leadership is the ability of an individual to influence the behavior of others and resources in a positive direction. Leading and service are both qualities of a good leader. A leader must have undergone training, passed through school, through a period of service, learnt and become grounded on the ethics of leadership. A leader is a problem solver. In today’s world where the government can no longer foot the bill of every citizen, this is not the time to complain about the government.
What are you doing as a youth? A song writer said “brighten the corner where you are” this calls for all hands to be on deck, you are a leader in your own area.  We are engulfed roundabout with difficulties; over 60 percent of our populations live below poverty line. This situation has left our youths with nothing other than poverty and despires.
Many have given up because they find nothing useful to do and have become apostles of destruction.   If at all we are going to handle this continually changing world, we have to adapt our selves by being resourceful and creative. While a wave is still forming a long way off in a distance, surfers know that it is a time to move a paddle out and get in position. We cannot bring change as youths without a burning desire for it.
It is this desire that creates ambition, which is the inner propelling force that drives an individual to pursue positive change; this will make us undaunted and unquenchable. Let every youth therefore be re-engineered to pursue education as to acquire the requisite skills to help us communicate our thoughts and ideas to help solve challenging situations in our environment, society and the nation at large which is one of the aims of acquiring knowledge at any level.
He who is not informed is deformed; a deformed person morally or intellectually cannot lead well.  Education enables us to identify a societal problem and proffer solutions to it. We were trained in school not to graduate and join the teaming population of undergraduates. Why are you sent to school? You are sent to school not just to acquire education but to be trained to affect humanity positively, education refines our God given talents. It brings out the real you making you more fortified to take charge.
There is need to harness entrepreneurial skills which will lead to self reliance. Show me a youth with ideas, for that is a born leader.  In other to execute your ideas you actually need the drive, and determination to take risk.  You may start small but dream big.  You cannot be seeking for job when you can be your own boss.  Become an employer and boost the nation’s economy. For economic development, ideas should be refined and harnessed into commercial value. Anywhere there is inefficiency is an opportunity for innovation.  Look around you, what can you do to make the society better?
Ensure you are at Imo Students Leadership Summit to know how to move forward . You will be equipped and empowered for the future.
The FUTURE dawns for us. Become all you can be, come chat up your future at this summit come 20th & 21st September 2016 at IICC Owerri.
You have what it takes.
Are you a leader or aspiring leader? Then you can’t afford to miss this.

BRO EMMA OKORIE IS PLUS ONE TODAY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FATHER, APOSTLE & SPIRITUAL COVER

Dear friends, join me to Celebrate my father, Apostle, Mentor, A living Legend of our time.
The man who nurtured & equipped me for the work of ministry, gave me my first preaching platform, taught me the power of vision, a master strategist!
Happy birthday . Wishing you God\’s riches best.

Bro Emma Okorie:  Who is He?

PROFILING MY MENTOR & WATCHING THE MINISTRY GROW

Bro Emma rose from a very humble background and started out in life without the privilege most people have but today he has silently caused a revolution through the Apostolic ministry.
Coming in contact with him 28 years ago, watching and following the ministry closely these years has given me an insight into the life of one of the greatest achiever of our time.
Growing up from a poor background, he did not fall into the temptation of letting wealth and international exposure get the better part of him. He had a strong commitment to fulfill the call of God upon his life at an early age of 17.
He gave his life to Christ in 1967 at Scripture Union, Mission Hill Umuahia. Was mentored and served under the tutelage of Bill Roberts, a British missionary who found himself worthless to save the lost. Bill Roberts went through hazardous life to raise missionaries for post civil war.
Grooming and mentoring Bro Emma from a boxer to a preacher. He taught him and proved him during the war by putting him in charge of a warehouse of relief materials sent by donor nations to save ibos from starvation.
Bro Emma Okorie became a Joseph in charge of distributing food to people as they lined up everyday to collect their ration.
The last of nine children, but became messiah to his entire family, community, Nigeria and the world at large.
He stepped out into itinerant evangelist ministry in an age when even the church of that day thought he was foolhardy. Leading a band of young men who all depended on him for direction through the length and breath of Nigeria.
The deaf heared, the dumb spoke, the blind saw and the dead were raised back to life besides other incurable diseases that were destroyed. Carrying generating sets on their heads, climbing mountains to get to people that had not heared the gospel.
Later in life, he met the amiable Chinyere Mba who later became his heart robe, Proposing to her in an usual manner. The two sacrificed their comfort to preach the gospel. Marriage could not stop his itinerant ministry. With her support, he became more and more daring in faith.
From Oral Roberts University, he moved to Rhema Bible Training Center on the advice of the Dean. Where God gave him a design of a bible school of practical application and what we know today as LWTC which has revolutionized the Christianity in this part of the world and beyond. A school am proud to be one of its graduating student.
The revolution is the practical application of the “five fold ministry” otherwise called the Apostolic Ministry in the church as enshrined in the scriptures and that is really what makes Living Word Ministry quite different from others.
He established the Living Word training center with the vision of equipping the believers for the work of ministry. The school is not for a ‘collared few”. Here everybody is somebody and only Jesus is Lord. Soon the students of the school began to hunger to practice what they had been taught. To solve that problem, Bro Emma planted a church, then another and another. Today he has planted outpost churches In Nigeria, USA, UK, Poland, Germany, South Africa, Togo etc
Out of a burden to get children trained in the way of the Lord, so that when they grow, they would not depart from it, bro Emma started the LWA in his house.
What bro Emma started as a mustard seed as a mustard seed stands today as a towering oak tree. The educational arm is one of the mission thrust of this great and humble servant of God.

CITATION OF IMO @ 40  LIFETIME ACHIEVER AWARD RECIPIENT: CHIEF (DR) EMMANUEL CHUKWUEMEKA IWUANYANWU
In life, some leaders are simply born great; some have greatness bestowed  on them by providence; while some achieve greatness by hard work. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu is indeed a rare combination of these three phenomenal traits.
Born on Friday 4th September, 1942 to the humble Christian family of Late Pa Bernard and Late Madam Hulder Iwuanyanwu of Unuohii Atta in Ikeduru Local Government Area, Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has today risen to the pinnacle of greatness and stardom. Propelled by the virtues of hard work, honesty and unalloyed faith in God, he has attained an enviable height as a successful role model, a political colossus, an industrial giant, a dedicated soldier of Christ, a professional icon of superlative class, a pace setter, an unprecedented philanthropist, a champion of youth empowerment, a detribalized Nigerian patriot, an epitome of integrity.
He has the following academic qualification:
1.     B.sc Hon Civil Engineering University of Nigeria Nsukka.
2.     D.sc Engineering Morgan State University Baltimore, Maryland USA
3.     L.ld (Hon) Shaw University Raleigh , North Carolina USA
4.     DBA Hon University of Nigeria Nsukka
5.     D.sc Hon University of Jos
6.     D.sc Hon University of Calabar
7.     D Tech Federal University of Technology Owerri
8.     DBA (Hon) Edo State University
9.     D.sc (Hon ) Engineering , Imo State University

Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is a registered Engineer by the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria.  He is a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Fellow Institute of Civil Engineers, Fellow Institute of Science & Technology, Fellow Solar Energy Society of Nigeria and Many others.
Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel  Iwuanyanwu is a meticulous and articulate investor, whose business empire runs through all spheres of economic endeavour.
So far, this business mogul has established twenty-two business outfits within an outside Nigeria.
In Politics, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has blazed the entire landscape like a legend. For some year, he flew the flag of Ndigbo as a frontline presidential aspirant. In the People’s Democratic Party today he is a member of the National Board of Trustees and also a member of the National Caucus of the party representing the entire South East Zone. HE served as Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo State Creation Committee, Chairman Ohaneze Ndigbo Planning and Strategy Committee, Board Chairman Federal Road Maintenance Agency, Board Chairman Nigerian Investment Promotion, Founding Chairman Raw Materials Research and Development  Council of Nigeria, Chairman National Productivity Merit Award Committee and presently Pro-Chancellor University of Calabar, just to mention a few.
In his philanthropic activities, he made contributions in the following area;
1.     He built the Children Center in his Alma-Mater in University of Nigeria Nsukka which he dedicated to his dear mother Late Madam Hulder Iwuanyanwu.
2.     He built and equipped Blood Transfusion Center at Federal Medical Center Owerri which was taken over by the Federal Government. Today, this center is the Center of Excellence of Blood Transfusion for the whole of South Eastern Nigeria.
3.     Under the governorship of Gen Ike Nwachukwu Chief Emmanuel chaired a Committee on Works and Infrastructure which recommended the building of Imo airport. He argued that Imo state at a time which comprised the present Imo, Abia and Ebonyi States was landlocked. And besides, the State was a home of many prominent entrepreneurs who regularly flew to other parts of the world for their business. This project was commenced with contributions from the then Imo Communities. At a stage when the project was suspended for lack of fund, leaders from Owerri Zone, the Zone in which the Airport was located held a meeting with the Military Governor at the time who explained that N2 million was required from the Government in order to continue the Airport project. Owerri Zone subsequently promised to pay the N2 million. The cheque for this project was handed over to Late Hezekiah Ofurum who was then a Commissioner under Governor Madueke. Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu paid this N2 million on behalf of Owerri people. It is important to note that at that time, N2 million was more than $2million (Two Million Dollars). Chief Emmanuel Iwuanaynwu did not request for any refund from Owerri Zone or the Government.
4.     When the Airport was completed, the Airport was not commissioned to any use as the Federal Government at a time argues that it was very close to Port Harcourt Airport. Chief Iwuanyanwu established Oriental Airlines and brought in Six Air-Crafts that operated between Owerri, Abuja, Kano and Maduigiri. Other Airlines found this route profitable and followed Oriental Airlines. Today Imo Airport is a beehive of Commercial Activities.
5.     Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu established Champion Newspapers to create a balance in the dissemination of information which was dominated by Press outside Igboland. Champion Newspapers indeed gave Igbos a sense of belonging.
6.     Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu established Iwuanyanwu National Football Club which was an offshoot of Spartans Football club which was virgin for disbandment. Iwuanyanwu National Football for many years dominated the lead, winning the league and FA Champion and Charity Cup a number of times. It is historic to note that Iwuanyanwu  Nationale Club was the first Club to win the profession league in Nigeria.
7.     Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu made a lot of other contributions to the development of sports through Iwuanayanwu Sports and Athletic Foundation and Iwuanyanwu Comet
8.     Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu established Iwuanyanwu Foundation which awarded University scholarship to many gifted students to study in tertiary institutions. All together he has trained over 3,000 Nigerian youths in his scholarship programme.
9.     Chief Iwuanyanwu was the Chairman of Owerri Chambers of Commerce. HE was a strong advocate of homeward integration by businessmen from Igboland. By this policy, he insisted that Igbo entrepreneurs should invest part of their businesses in Igboland to create goods, services and employment for the youths of  Igboland. He set example of this by establishing most of his businesses in Owerri and even in his village Atta, Ikeduru.
10. Chief Iwuanyanwu made substantial contributions to the development of many communities in Imo State for the provision of light, water and roads.
11. Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu appreciated that most people in Igboland are Christians of various denominations; he therefore supported many Christian projects in Igboland.
12. Around 1987, when the military indicted their intention to hand over power, leaders of Imo State comprising Imo, Abia and part of Ebonyi met at the palace of Onuegwunwoke in Owerri in order to select a Spokesman for the Igbos. At that time, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was still a young man and the leadership was expected to fall in the hands of older leaders such as Dr Jaja Wachukwu, Chief R.B.K Okafor and Dr. J.O.J Okezie. At a well attended meeting by all Traditional Rulers, Political leaders and Religious leaders in Igboland, these three older leaders failed to step down for the other to be the rallying point for the Igbos. After many hours of deliberation, the Traditional Rulers announced that they were going on a caucus to select somebody. We all agreed to accept whoever they selected. After their deliberation which lasted for One hour, they came back from their meeting and announcement was made by HRM Eze Benard Enweremandu in behalf of the Traditional Rulers that they have selected a younger person Chief Emmanuel Iwuanywu to carry this assignment. The three leading politicians Chied R.B. K Okafor, Dr. Jaja Wachukwu and D. J.O.J Okezie one after the other declared their support for Chief Iwuanyanwu. Chief Iwuanyanwu was therefore unanimously appointed the Spokesman for Igbo people on all political issues.
Subsequently, all the meetings about the creation of Ebonyi State were held in Chief Iwuanyanwu’s residence. Later when Ebonyi was being created, the dispute between Afikpo and Abakiliki areas was also resolved in Chief Iwuanyanwu’s house
Chief Iwuanyanwu therefore has played major role in shaping the life and destiny of Igbo people.
In recognition of his selfless services to humanity, Chief (Dr.) Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu is a recipient of an avalanche of International and National awards and titles including Ahaejiagamba Ndibo conferred on him by Chairman of Traditional Rulers Representing the seven Igbo Stated of Nigeria.
In all his houses, he established of Chapel of Holy Bethel where constant praises and prayers are offered to the Almighty God. All through his life, he had remained a dedicated soldier of the Christ, using his time, money, intellect and other resources in the effective propagation of the Gospel. He is the member of the Order of Knights of St Christopher in the Anglican Communion.
His philosophy of life is appropriately encapsulated in his speech on Monday 11th November, 1985 when he handed over a Blood Transfusion Center which he built, furnished and donated to the Imo State Government and I quote:
“I believe in the Supreme Being. He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent. He is all loving and all wise. He is the Almighty God.
I believe that the highest fulfillment, the greatest happiness and the wildest usefulness if the individual can only be realized in harmony with the divine will of the Almighty God.
I believe in the supreme worth of the individual, in his right to life and liberty and pursuit of happiness.
I believe in the sacredness of human life and human right.
I believe that every right implies a responsibility, every opportunity an obligation and every possession a duty.
I believe in dignity of labour whether with the head or with the hand.
I believe that the goof God in his infinite mercy has bestowed mankind with sundry gifts and whatever gift bestowed on any man is given to him by the good Lord in sacred trust and man should use such gifts to promote love, happiness and peace among the people of all races and creed.
I believe that the world owes no man a living but owes every man an opportunity to make a living.
I believe that love is the greatest thing in the world and it can over-come hate, greed and rancor.
I believe that the rendering of useful service is the common duty of mankind and the greatest happiness and peace of the human soul can be attained in rendering such services.
I believe that truth,  justice and equity are fundamental pre-requisites to an enduring social order that right can and will always triumph over might.
I believe in the sacredness of promise, that man’s word  should be as good os a bond, that character not wealth or power or possession is of supreme worth.
I believe that prudence is essential to well ordered living and that economy is a pre-requisite of a sound financial structure whether in government, business or personal affairs.
And finally, I believe that law is made for man and not man for law and that government is the servant of the people and not the master and no individual can be greater than the society in which he lives.”
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, we present to you, Chief (Dr.) Engr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu CRR, OFR, MFR,FNSE, FNICE,KSC AHAEJIAGAMBA NDIGBO, a distinguished , illustrious and celebrated Nigerian. A living legend of our time. His heritage if humility. His profession is pragmatism. His legacy is diligence and prudence. His promise is versatility spiced with magnanimity.

JONATHAN SPEAKS OUT…

I Didn\’t Hand Over A Collapsed Nation To Buhari – Dr.
Goodluck Jonathan-

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has replied his critics who accused him of handing over a nation at the verge of collapse to his successor, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Jonathan recounted the achievements of his government to include, handing over a country that produced the richest man in Africa.

Jonathan said, “I took over a Nigeria that was the second largest economy in Africa with a GDP of $270.5 billion in 2009, I handed over a Nigeria that had grown to become the largest economy in Africa and the 24th largest economy in the World with a GDP of $574 billion.

“I inherited a Nigeria in which the trains were not working, and handed over a Nigeria in which citizens can safely travel by trains again. I also inherited a country where illiteracy rate particularly in the Northern part was alarming.
I handed over a country where every state in the North and indeed all the states had a Federal University. I inherited a country where there was total infrastructural decay in all the unity schools and colleges of education. But I handed over a country with massive infrastructural improvement in almost higher institutions. I inherited a country where agricultural inputs and production were almost zero. But I handed over a country where a bag of rice was sold for N6,500 to N7000. My regime since the establishment of ecological fund office did more irrigation dams in the North and other parts of the country than other subsequent administrations put together. I inherited epileptic fuel supplies resulting to endless queues at the filling stations. I maintained despite enormous challenges of fuel subsidies and handed over a relatively stable fuel regime.

I inherited a Nigeria that was a net importer of cement, and handed over a Nigeria that is a net exporter of cement.
.
In 2009 the richest Nigerian was the 5th richest man in Africa, but I handed over a Nigeria that produced the richest man in Africa.

The former President further stated \” I inherited a country where people were almost losing hope on the credibility of its electoral process but I noticed that democracy will continue to grow in the African continent if leaders value the process of elections more than the product of the process. I handed over electoral process that engendered fairness in its conduct and conclusiveness \”.

He said, “Even in the 2015 general elections in my country, Nigeria, there was potential for major crisis if I was not a President duly elected by the will of the people.
.
“The campaigns leading to the elections almost polarized the country into Christian vs Muslims and North vs South divide. Most World leaders were worried that our elections will result into major crisis. Some pundits even from here in the United States said that those elections would spell the end of Nigeria and that we would cease to exist as a nation because of the polls.
.
That is where the leadership question comes into play.
.As a leader that was duly elected by the people, I considered the people’s interest first.
.How do I manage my people to avoid killings and destruction of properties?
.
With the interest of the people propelling all the decisions I took, we were able to sail through.

Indeed, we sailed through because I refused to interfere with the independence of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, having appointed a man I had never met in my life to run it. We sailed through because I maintained and still believe that my personal ambition, interest is not worth the blood of any single Nigerian.
.
My philosophy was simple. For elections to be credible, I as a leader, must value the process more than the product of the process. And the citizens must have confidence in the electoral body.

INTERNET EQUALITY AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS! BY Prof Obiaraeri

INTERNET EQUALITY AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS!
 Prof Obiaraeri.
…the internet is a typical jungle
Welcome to the world of the good, the bad and the ugly.
This is the global village you hear about.
It can be quiet but extremely deadly…definitely there are no rules like you have in the dangerous games of hockey, golf, cricket, rugby or boxing or wrestling.
The Internet is an abyss…especially its social media variant that is populated by all manner of creatures or patrons emboldened by the fabled internet equality and account ownership secrecy.
This is the gravest danger associated with many social platforms-internet ghosts are on the prowl.
Never you lower your guard lest you be consumed by other ravenous creatures including e-robots and e-rascals.
Survival is an individual device. Take what you need and don\’t let what you don\’t need take you.
Kill or get killed. Prey or be preyed upon.
Never let the hunter become the hunted or the game.
What you read or see or watch or hear may not be what you get in real life-it is not all true as some, if not all, are make belief.
Be street wise…put on your thinking cap and toughen your sensibilities (like the proverbial tough elephant skin).
Combat vigorously and defensively on the internet with all your mental agility as we live in an age of intellectual rigour.
Ideas rule the world including crazy ones.
…On the internet you can rule the world as it is on your finger tips…don\’t ruin yourself!
A new normal is possible!
Prof Obiaraeri.

Okorocha during his first visit to the institution announced BEB Nwoke as Ag. V.C and old the world that the Prof. did not lobby to be appointed but that he made up his mind to appoint him as Ag.Vice Chancellor when he heard about the Professors reputation as a disciplinarian, with strong Christian values. In that singular action, history was replayed again as BEB Nwoke was similarly appointed Ag. VC by Rtd. Col. The 15 months spent by the Ag.
